Vilgax MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Vilgax? Vilgax is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - sp/so - 836 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.

Vilgax is clearly an ENTJ.  Te: Vilgax is all about the results, valuing efficiency and productivity above all else. He's willing to do anything to achieve his goals of obtaining the Omnitrix and ruling the universe, no matter what gets in his way. He uses cybernetics to strengthen his body after suffering mortal wounds, forces Ben into captivity by threatening Gwen and Max, turns those with potential into useful minions (Rojo and Six Six), makes the best out of his resources (such as taming beasts in the Null Void) and proves to be a ruthless enforcer overall.  Ni: Vilgax is determined to make his vision a reality, and his willingness to plan ahead greatly supports said goal. He spends the entire first season in the shadows, studying Ben's movements and preparing for their confrontation, all while healing from his wounds. He is also shown to be surprisingly reasonable and patient, more notably when he makes an alliance with Kevin 11, avoiding unnecessary risks and taking a pragmatic approach.  Se: Vilgax can be impulsive and reactive at times, particularly when he is losing the battle, with his defiance before being defeated by Way Big being the biggest example. He proves to be a formidable adversary when battling mainly due to his sheer strength and brutality, and is shown to be capable of adapting to the environment rather quickly (notably the Null Void).  Fi: Vilgax is not emotionally expressive, to say the least. He remains logical and objective most of the time, and his feelings only come out when he is particularly stressed. In the S2 finale, he is focused on the Omnitrix and ignores Ben, unlike the more irrational Kevin. However, his return from the Null Void shows that he has been scarred by the experience and he becomes far more emotionally invested in killing Ben, as opposed to previously seeing him as just an obstacle.  Vilgax is clearly an E8.  8w9: Vilgax is all about power, dominance and conquest, and has little interest in his reputation (unlike 3s, who base success entirely on image and seek status rather than power for its own sake). His disregard for "heroics" and weakness shines through the series, as does his power-hungry, sadistic, and domineering nature. His core motivation behind ruling the universe is to "be invincible" which ties back to core 8 fears and desires of independence. The 9 wing fits him better due to his quiet and relatively more collaborative character.  SP8: Vilgax is a SP8, fitting its more reserved, productive and direct nature, as well as the drive for influence and material success that characterises it. The secondary subtype is probably the SX8 due to his more impulsive moments and need to possess the Omnitrix.  835: Vilgax's tritype is definitely 83x, with his confrontational core (8w9) and ambitious fix (SP 3w4) being obvious. Whether his head fix is of the reactive (SX6) or knowledgeable (SP5) kind is up for debate, but I'm going with the latter.

Biography

Regarded as "the most dangerous being in the universe", Vilgax is a ruthless, cruel, and power-hungry galactic warlord. In nearly all his encounters, Vilgax operates with the single-minded objective of acquiring the Omnitrix and exploiting its technology to build an army capable of transforming into aliens at his command, then use that power to conquer the entire universe. Throughout his entire pursuit for absolute power, Vilgax was not willing to let anyone or anything stand in his way. As such, he would get revenge on anyone who defeated him before. This shows that Vilgax can hold a grudge, most notably against Max and his family for the great number of losses he has suffered at their hands. Between this and his imprisonment in the Null Void, he has developed such a pathological hatred towards Ben that he wants to kill him as much as getting the Omnitrix.
