What personality type is Shawn? Shawn is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sp/sx - 648 in Enneagram, RLUAI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.
Well, it is clear as day that Shawn has good Ti and low Fe. But, he has no Ne-Si. Se: Shawn is a survivalist. Not a theorist. He constantly shows how much in tune with the environment he is. Whenever he is not constantly ranting about his hate for zombies and his obsession with surviving the apocalypse, he is usually seen foraging for food, sleeping on trees and expanding his knowledge of the Pahkitew Island's surroundings. In Episode 3, Shawn camouflages himself in the trees with moss and tree bark, to hide away from Team Kinosewak. In Episode 5, he used pieces of trash and plants to disguise himself as a zombie and adapt to his current situation. In Episode 12, he literally creates a challenge that is based entirely around having good Se, and Shawn would have it as auxiliar, a trait he shares with Sky, but Sugar lacks (Speaking about her, she is most likely mistyped. She seems much more of an ENFP than an ESFP to me). Ni: Well, Shawn might have a vivid imagination, but it doesn't mean he has Ne. He is a pretty stubborn person when it comes to zombies and keeps living in fear of them, confronting them to cope with it. He doesn't deviate from his plans much and his weird ideas come from his experience as a survivor, and not as he comes in the spur of the moment. There is also this line in Episode 12: "Entrance chamber with eye scan entry and remote lasers...here, here and here! And here and here! And here! Master bedroom with bite-proof bedspread and weaponized pillows...and just in caaaase...THIS IS THE PANIC ROOM! AND THIS IS THE PANIC ROOM INSIDE THE PANIC ROOM!" No. This is not Ne having multiple ideas. This is Ni trying to satisfy their idealized vision of what they want. Shawn had that all planned beforehand, he didn't have these ideas over one night in the competition. Some would say this is his Si talking, but I think that if he had Si, he would be way more open with Jasmine in relation to the prize money. He doesn't just want to be careful with zombies. He wants his vision accomplished. If he wanted to only be careful, he would have no problem sharing the million. "Oh man. How can I be open about her in relation to the money? I need the whole million! Half is not enough!" This stubbornness also comes from bad Fe, in conjunction with his Ni. If we take into account an ENFJ, which is the opposite of ISTP, they would probably have a similar mindset of wanting to satisfy their vision, but they would have different reasons because of high Fe. Shawn's character arc revolves around him developing a good usage of Fe. "I think Jasmine was really cool to help me. I think I should split the money with her." "But, I changed my mind! I did! Play that part now!"
Biography
Shawn has spent his entire life training and preparing for a zombie apocalypse. His fear is so intense that he will become nervous the very moment one seems to be around, sometimes retreat without investigating fully, and even neglect to think about his own feelings, or those of others. His survivalist mentality is constantly active, which can come in handy during challenges. However, it can also doom his team, as he will abandon them in favor of protecting himself. He is otherwise remarkably loyal to them, contributing to the best of his ability. He is so athletically talented that he can hop from tree to tree with little difficulty, single-handedly destroy an army of robots, and even stealthily swipe a crystal without his teammates noticing. Shawn is happy to share his survival expertise with those in need.
