What personality type is Kaz Brekker? Kaz Brekker is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sp/sx - 835 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.

i kid you not, i knew after the first few pages that kaz was an XNTJ. at first i was definitely leaning towards INTJ - partially cause, lbr, he's got that whole ~vibe~ (wow i tried to use the little TM letters & it wouldn't let me so fuq dis) down perfectly. but then it becomes extremely clear real fast that he's most definitely an ENTJ. no ifs, ands, or buts about it. unfortunately, it looks like a LOT of people still think that he's an INTJ. /: as much as i would looove to claim kaz, he's just not one. he's got very strong & well-developed ni, even for an ENTJ, but when you really get down to analyzing his character, he's ALWAYS choosing te > ni. & let's not forget that when typing someone, you have to factor in ALL 4 of their cognitive functions. claiming that kaz has "stronger ni than te" & then calling him an INTJ isn't enough proof. especially when factoring in his se & fi usage. you gotta also prove that he has tert fi & inf se in order to call him an INTJ! & i thought it was extremely obvious that kaz is ALWAYS se > fi. he literally doesn't ever show a SINGLE sign of inf se. but oh god does he show aaaaall the freaking inf fi signs (like it's a lil wild lmao)!! his se is just too developed to ever be inferior... meanwhile, his fi is practically non-existent. that's what he spends all those pages developing (aided by the flawless inej, a dom fi user) so the fact that kaz is te > ni as well as se > fi means that he's an ENTJ. he's just an extremely socially introverted one (don't mistake social intro/extroversion for MBTI type please guys!!) - which is also understandable, considering how traumatized he is. (& i just have to say... i really enjoyed seeing how well written all these characters were, especially in regards to their respective traumas. it was sooo freaking nice to see that trauma handled correctly. & i IMMENSELY enjoyed the entire relationship/dynamic between kaz & inej, two extremely traumatized teens who both don't really know how to handle love [especially kaz my boyy] but clearly care for each other SO much.) anyways, back to his type. as i said, kaz definitely has a very well developed use of ni. he's so easily able to see far, far ahead of everyone else when it comes to his scheming (& he'sable to connect the dots very easily too). he's even extremely private with his scheming, only revealing the bare minimum to the others. (i've seen some comments about how "that's dom ni" but... eh not really. te-ni can do that just like ni-te typically does.) but kaz doesn't actually show very many signs of having dom ni, contrary to the belief of many. i just never saw any of the same level of detachedness that other INXJ's have, due to the dom ni + inf se combination. kaz is also very much rooted in reality a la his dom te; i never really noticed him relying on his ni constantly, or instinctively creating his own patterns & his own version of reality, or needing to always filter everything inwardly through ni before te, the way a dom ni user would. everything goes through te first with him, while his ni is constantly aiding his te. he's so comfortable with his te though that it's unreal. & the whole duology showcases his detachment from HIMSELF & his FEELINGS, NOT a detachment from reality itself / the reality presented all around him. that right there means he's te > ni, not the other way around. kaz struggles faaar too much with his fi for it to ever be anything other than his inferior function. he's CONSTANTLY repressing his own emotions to an extreme level, & is rarely truly aware of what he really feels about practically anything. (just look at how he represses those bubbling feelings he has for inej, while still managing to look out for her because he really does care no matter how much he denies it to himself.) &, as i had mentioned earlier, he clearly shows se > fi too. i don't remember seeing even one instance of inf se showing up?? (but that inf fi is so huge.) kaz is way too comfortable using his se for it to ever be inferior. even while he schemes far ahead, he's still able to quite easily make on-the-spot adjustments to his plans as necessary, & is even able to wing it right then & there. sorry guys, but even an INTJ with well-developed se would still NEVER be able to do those things as well as kaz does. that is clear tert se right there! & he even showed signs of te-se looping (like when inej was kidnapped) rather than ni-fi looping. so, while i can understand why people would think he's an INTJ, when you really look at the functions kaz uses it becomes extremely clear that he's actually an ENTJ. (& he's one of my all-time favorite ENTJ's too!)
