Personality

What personality type is Jessica Fletcher? Jessica Fletcher is an ENFJ personality type in MBTI, 2w1 - so/sp - 215 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.

Why ENFJ: She’s very socially adaptive. She seems genuinely interested in connecting with people and helping them. When something comes up, she’s always driven to use her deductive skills to bring justice to those who have been impacted. She doesn’t do it for the sake of puzzle solving, she doesn’t feel the need to just correct what was incorrect, but a need to help those. She also seems to remember a lot of details about people, for example one guy asked her what jewelry he should get a girl he’s interested in, she first said “jewelry is a personal gift, it would mean more if you picked it out yourself” but then before leaving, she turned and told him, “shes a Virgo…” and I can’t remember the rest but recommended sapphire. An INTJ, would’ve either first thought about it, analyzed the best option, then suggested it, or just simply stuck with the first statement that it’s personal and not their position to suggest what he should do. While she does come to conclusions in the background, it’s not the same way an INTJ would. She seems to gather the information through external stimulation, things around her that happen or that people say sparks those realizations, while an INTJ may have that happen when THEY notice things through observations, such as looking around a room and noticing something odd, which reminds them of something regarding the case. While both can be true and she does technically do both, she tends to get those hints through communicating with others, she’s very socially sound in the show and takes people’s statements very seriously. There was one episode a woman kept lying to her, but that woman ended up getting called the main suspect in a murder. Between helping someone that may be innocent or just following the judgment she’s always a liar, the girls lawyer convinced her to help because the fear and emotional guilt of what if she’s guilty. She knew this was a possibility and that helping someone was what she’s meant to do. While an INTJ could also have that reaction, I don’t think that emotional fear would be the same, I think they would see it more as an error of judgment, not clouded by emotion. Which shows the two different ways decisions are made. Very similar but also slightly different. She’s smart and has great detective skills but that doesn’t mean she has to be a NT. There’s so much more to her but I don’t know the right terms to properly explain this. Hope this helps at least someone 😭
