What personality type is Lily Aldrin? Lily Aldrin is an ENFJ personality type in MBTI, 2w1 - so/sx - 271 in Enneagram, SLOEI in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
She has no trace of Si, she's about as idealistic and prone to reinforce what she wants onto other people in the same way Ted does, the only difference is that she's more intense in that aspect due to her dominant Fe, unlike Ted's aux Fe that just leaves other people to their own devices unless he cares about them too much that he has no other choice but to get involved. The problem with Lily is she's so prone to getting involved ALL THE TIME because of her "It's not about what you want, it's about what you need." mindset which is a very distinct trait found in Fe doms. Specifically, the ones with Ni in their function stack because of how she thinks she knows what's better for other people due to her own preconceived notions of them (manipulating her friends' relationships so that in the future, she'll have the picture-perfect life where all her friends are settled, not just her and Marshall, because she knows if one of them is unhappy, so is she) Plus she has obvious tert Se, her insights and behavior are fluid, stable, and consistent unlike an ESFJ who has tert Ne and is susceptible to spontaneity when under pressure (Fe + Ne loop) but when Lily's stressed, she leans more towards physical pressures like shopping, and wanting to escape her responsibilities and indulge in personal pleasures to block out the noise (e.g when she confessed to Ted about being overwhelmed as a mother and just wanting to abandon her husband and son and never come back) It just seems strange to me that Barney who has inferior Si is more receptive to mundane details and reflecting back on past experiences to guide him through life than Lily who's being theorized as an ESFJ. She's too stuck in her head and prioritizes her visions more to be an ESFJ whose main concern is to just accommodate others instead of imposing what they want because they feel like they're doing them a favor, which seems more Ni-Se than Si-Ne, in my opinion.
Biography
Lily Aldrin (born March 22, 1978) is one of five main characters of How I Met Your Mother, portrayed by #AlysonHannigan. She is the wife of Marshall Eriksen and the best friend of Robin Scherbatsky, as well as one of Ted Mosby's closest friends, having known him and Marshall since college. She currently works as an art consultant to The Captain, having formerly been a kindergarten teacher.
