Hyunjae (The Boyz) MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Hyunjae (The Boyz)? Hyunjae (The Boyz) is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - sp/so - 728 in Enneagram, SCUAI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.

I've seen a lot of INTP votes coming in lately, and honestly, I understand why. He clearly uses the XNTP functions. Also, I don't think there's been really an in-depth great argument yet for why ENTP makes more sense than INTP but I'll try my best to give one. The first thing I see is that he uses a lot of Fe. It's not by any means as strong as it is in XXFJ types but it is definitely there, and in my opinion, too prominent to be inferior. He seems to care a lot about appearances, the way things look to other people. When TBZ won the first round of RTK, Hyunjae told the other members: "Don't cry, don't cry. Let's not cry here." This shows awareness of the external environment (in terms of other people) and an attempt to not disrupt it with dramatic displays of emotion. Very Fe. In his gen z interview, when talking about his regrets, he suddenly looks outwards and asks: "Oh, do I look like a weirdo?" "Does that make me look bad?" He's searching for external approval and reassurance while worrying about how he "looks" or "appears" to others. Once again, very Fe. He's also clearly very aware of how other people are feeling, and when the other members are down, he's always the first one to try to cheer them up. Some examples of this includes when almost all of the members cried during their first win Hyunjae didn't and instead went around trying to comfort everyone. Also, Younghoon was crying during a recent online concert, Jae danced in front of him to try to make him laugh. The tertiary function is "the inner child." Tertiary Fe often come across as very playful and kind of "class clown-like." EXTPs often don't like when others are down and have an almost instinctual need to "raise the mood" which we see in Hyunjae in the instances I mentioned above. I can find countless examples of his Fe, but I'll give a couple more. One is how he picked up on when Chanhee is feeling shy or uncomfortable on v-live and complimented him to boost his confidence. Another example is when asked what was one thing he'd never want to lose he answered: "people." A third is him choosing "believe" for his Right Here shirt because he feels it's "the most important [thing] between people." Here is a little description of how tertiary Fe manifests as it develops and I honestly think it fits Hyunjae perfectly: "As Fe develops, EXTPs become more socially aware and skilled at making other people feel comfortable. They tend to feel responsible for the needs and emotions of others and can become very protective if their loved ones are being mistreated or bullied. They develop an unsettling (to some) ability to read what’s going on with other people. They may intuitively know how other people are feeling and how to make them feel better. They can also use this skill to be unstoppable salespeople or to convince people using emotional 'strategizing.'" Yes, INTPs have Fe too but their Fe is inferior. Picking up on what other people are feeling would be a struggle for them, and it clearly isn't for Hyunjae. I also don't see anything that would point to his Si being stronger than his Fe. Honestly, his Si use seems quite limited and that function really doesn't come out very much, especially compared to his Fe which is quite prominent and fairly well developed. The instances of Si I do see sound very much like inferior Si. In his gen z interview he says: "I regret all the time" and that he thinks to himself: "Why did I do that?" and "I want to undo all that." He also says in another interview that: "Strangely, I think all my memories of [debut day] have vanished as a whole. I can't remember anything." I think a lot of the reason why people type him as an INTP is because of his bluntness, but remember, ENTPs still use Ti over Fe. Fe is still in the bottom half of their function stack, so it would make sense that Ti accuracy would prevail over Fe harmony. Interestingly too, when asked about his bluntness, Hyunjae says that he "[tends] to speak for others and kind of take the bullet" even though isn't frequently isn't in his own best interest. He also says that he "can't stand injustice" and that's often why he speaks up. Basically, a lot of his bluntness comes from trying to help other people, which once again, points to Fe. Just for fun, there's the fact that he idolizes Iron Man/Tony Stark who is also an ENTP 7w8. Overall, Hyujae's Fe is way too high to be inferior. It definitely overshadows his Si and is honestly way too strong to be in any position lower than tertiary. (It also does not behave like a developed inferior function, rather a developed tertiary.)
