The devil works hard but these ISTJ voters work harder. The only argument I found for Si is that he was a fan of upholding traditional values. I remind you that this also came because his daughter was sleeping with half of the senate and he indirectly warned her to cut it out. Back to the argument at hand, how can people provide such a shallow argument when analyzing Augustus and only analyze one small aspect of his rule? Do you understand the monumental impact he had in the history of Rome? That he changed the entire freaking system? That before him, an “emperor” would never be accepted? That Julius Caesar was murdered because he didn’t play his cards right the way a 20 something years old boy did? He saw how Rome was rotting and he came with a vision of how to fix it. Lucky for him, Julius Caesar made him heir to a huge fortune. Back to his rule. He kept it humble as far as dictators go, because he knew that only like that he’d keep his power. He knew what they’d do to an emperor, so he lived as humbly as possible for the eyes of the public. As the richest man alive, he never spent money on himself (at least not publicly, because Livia had a whole luxury mansion outside of Rome in Prima Porta) and never took titles. Reputation was everything to him. Everything public Augustus did was calculated. Augustus made his sister raise 6 of Antony’s children after his death. Why else would he do that if he didn’t want to appear well in the eyes of the public? On the other hand, he went and killed Julius Caesar’s only biological son because of the legitimate claim he had on Augustus’ power. Not to mention, he waged war on every opponent he had to be the sole ruler of Rome; first Brutus and Sextus Pompey, then Lepidus and Antony. All because of the vision he had to make Rome what he thought it should be. Please, he was a whole mastermind and he started his political career without any guidance nor powerful friends at the age of 19. Sorry (not sorry) to say a Si-dom can never take the risks he did.

Biography

Octavian/Augustus (Latin: Imperator Caesar Divi filius Augustus; 23 September 63 BC – 19 August 14 AD) was a Roman statesman and military leader who served as the first Emperor of the Roman Empire, controlling Imperial Rome from 27 BC until his death in AD 14. His status as the founder of the Roman Principate has consolidated an enduring legacy as one of the most effective and controversial leaders in human history. He was born Gaius Octavius Thurinus into an old and wealthy equestrian branch of the plebeian gens Octavia. He was called 'Octavius' before he got the honour title 'Augustus'. In 29 BC he received the title 'princeps' which means 'the exalted' but later on in history it was used to refer to emperors.
