What personality type is Lucy? Lucy is an ISFP personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sx/sp - 468 in Enneagram, RLUEN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.
So here is why I believe she is an ISFP as well - At least the anime Lucy, Its been a while since I read the manga. Fi- I agree with the comment down below, who says she is Fi dom from child to adolescence. She wasn’t born believing that humans are cruel by nature, but happens when she is crossed on too many times - She could have killed these bullies before, when they were after only her, but it happens after they tortures her dog, meaning the only thing that matters to her and fills her with happiness. And even before that she gave the orphange girl, who backstabbed her chance - She does not entirely believe everyone is out to hurt her, but does what her gut instinct tells her is right, you can see that from when she is a child, teen and adult. She befriends Kouta and don’t label him, until she finds out about his lie, and as she grows older she befriends Aiko, who she opens up to and swear she will protect no matter what. About Nanas dismembering - Lucy did warn her multiple times to not fight against her, and even demostrated how easily it would be for her to tear her apart. You have to remember as well that Nana was going to take her home - Meaning that Lucy would have been locked in a cell the rest of her life, which made her go even more mad. In the end of series she saves Nanas life from Isobe, and tells her “she wants her to do, what she can’t do” meaning to live a happy life. She also had the chance to kill Mayu two times, when she was trying to stop her from harming Nana - The second time when Mayu hugs her and tells her not do it, she calmly pushes her away, instead of hurting her, she never saw her as a bad person. She takes a while to open up to people, and aren’t likely to approach someone unless that person strikes her interest in some way. Once she lets someone into her world, she keeps that connection open as long as harmony remains between the two-- “ i.e. if the other person shows themselves to be inauthentic or living out a strong opposition to a value the FiSe holds” Her DNA voice is a great examble of her Fi as well - The one who tries to encourage her killing instinct. Before taking orders from it, she always ask herself: “How do I feel about this?” which is based on her moral code at the current moment. Se- I get that she can get confused as a Si dom - She did compare Kouta to the other kids and she had an unhealthy obsession with Koutas lie, but its important to remember Lucy was only a child, when that occured. When we are young, its pretty common that we let our emotions dominate our actions and considering Lucy had an traumatizing experience and superpowers, she takes the “call of the void” into action. She is very impulsive and don’t think things through before putting them into action - She killed families for their homes as a child and certainly did not hestitate to kill Koutas family, instead of questining him why he lied to her. She pretty much do what she wants to do, when she wants. I think if she had been a Si user, she would still have carried grudges towards Kouta and his lie as an adult, but no - She feels guilty and ashamed of what happened. As an adult she sees him as a good hearted and nuturing person, and becomes the one that means the most to her. She is fully present in the moment that the current situation she find herself in feels like it’s her whole world.
