What personality type is Daniel LaRusso? Daniel LaRusso is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - so/sx - 972 in Enneagram, SLOAI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
From what I've seen from the Karate Kid movies, he was an ESFP. I think he seems very ENFJ-like in Cobra Kai because he is in a mentor role and is a little more mature than he was before. However, when it comes to his decision-making, he is still very much an ESFP. Though he has learned to find inner balance, he still tends to jump to conclusions and judge people harshly if their actions deviate from what he believes is right. He is quick to oppose those people and fight them using any means at his disposal. To Daniel, the Miyagi way is not only one way, but it is the only right way. This is because the values that Miyagi taught him are very important to him as an individual. Staying true to those lessons from his teacher and doing what he believes is right is an important part of his self-concept and identity. This all seems more Fi to me than Fe.
Biography
A teen who ends up being trained in karate by Mr. Miyagi after moving to the Valley and meeting Johnny Lawrence. 34 years after his victory against Johnny Lawrence, Daniel's (professional!) life couldn't be better, but the return of his hated rival and the dojo that made him threaten to upset Daniel's balanced life.
