Dear Beatrice, Ti+Ne Daniel Handler LARPing as an INFP is the funniest thing in the world to me. Lemony Snicket is an exaggerated caricature of an INFP, articulated through the lens of an XNTP author. The series of unfortunate events is a serious introduction to satire for children, and Lemony is the perfect vessel. A vessel, in this case, means a “character meant to be equal parts tragic and hilarious, which really, all tragic characters are.” Im not afraid to say the man is a genius and his books shaped my humor and worldview. They also gave me solace in my #epicfail childhood. I could wax poetic in an essay about the character of Lemony, but he already did. Lol! Another thing to note is Daniel Handler’s writing style is a lot like Douglas Adams’ (ENTP). Not to be overly psychoanalytical, but I think writing through the eyes of an INFP could’ve been cathartic for him. Sometimes a joke (in this case, the verbose character of Lemony) is the only way subtertiary Fi can be expressed, or rather relieved might be a better word in this context. Sx 9 for his communication style (the sagas of the 9s), and how the subject of literally all of his writing is his beloved. Everything goes back to Beatrice…he is never writing about his own tragedy, but of hers.
