Personality

What personality type is Mio Akiyama? Mio Akiyama is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sp/so - 612 in Enneagram, RLOAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.

Socionics: Mio seems Si > Se and Fi > Fe - Si-Te: Her use of Si seems like a primary motivator. She is stable person, reluctant to ever go outside of her comfort zone unless pushed to. When studying, and Ritsu asks to play, Mio refuses saying going out makes her tired and sleepy. Doesn’t seem to value forceful impact (compare to Azusa who is ESI, who is contantly pushing -Se- for her own ideal/vision -Ni-). She is more of a stabilizer, keeping things in check. Mio uses Se sparingly on Ritsu (SEE) to reel her in from being too forceful. This shows strong Se, but it is unvalued. Se is used to maintain Si (Se ignoring/control function). Instead, Mio’s impact is Te, which is doing the logistical or practical things to make sure the band keeps running. She’s very diligent, and takes on the main role of songwriting in the band. - Fi-mobilizing and Fe-polr: Her songs show her “hidden agenda” Fi. Even Ritsu was surprised by the content of her lyrics (bc Mio is not very “fluffy” and is more serious on the surface). A soft, romantic side of her that isn’t easy for her to express outside of songs. Mio is generally an emotionally even-keeled person. And she keeps a calm, neutral expression. (until she gets scared or else has emotional moments). But even so, her displays of emotions are sincere and unintentional. Fe-polr doesn’t mean lacking in emotion but lacking in emotional influence. Doesn’t show any need for heightened emotions of situations. Ep 1: when Ritsu is being dramatic, Mio keeps a poker face and bluntly splashes water on the emotional atmosphere. She prefers Fi > Fe, like how she talked to Azusa at first. She relied on her personal, sincere expression (Fi) of: “Why didn’t I join another club? I think it’s because I love being in a band with these members.” And lacks any emotional pressure (Fe) from her statements. (Compare this to Mugi who is SEI. When Mugi is cheering up Ritsu, she goes with things that will affect emotion, saying “Ritsu is kind. If she were a guy, she’d be popular! *smile*” Mugi focuses on affecting Ritsu’s emotions rather than making a relation-focused statement. And injects laughs and smiles easily to create a positive atmosphere). Mio’s emotional displays are spontaneous and uncontrolled, like when she bursts out in joy, fear, or excitement: “Jimi Hendrix? Jimmy Page!?” Mio also seems to lack awareness how she comes across sometimes. For example, sending Ritsu lyrics without any context, making Ritsu mistake them for a love letter. Hey, guess what! Logical types can be warm, kind, considerate people too! Imagine that! And express emotions! That’s crazy!! Mio is an example of an innocent and compassionate SLI.
