What personality type is Yona? Yona is an ENFJ personality type in MBTI, 2w3 - so/sx - 278 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
(Edit: Yeah outdated argument) One of the most obvious and best ENFJ characters ever honestly. I'm amazed how she was typed ENFP before because the way she uses Fe-Ni-Se is so visible. Luckily Akayona fandom was better and quickier at realizing that their protagonist is misstyped than a certain fandom *coughs* Sailor Moon* Anyways, even though majority of people agreed she is ENFJ i'd still like to explain her functions since i haven't seen much arguments about why she uses Fe-Ni-Se-Ti. • When they first arrived in both Awa and Water Tribe, Yona immadiately has realized there were something going wrong by reading emotions of the environment around her (Fe-Se). Hak uses the same functions as her in opposite direction so unlike Yona, he realized by analyzing the physical environment around him instead of reading emotions (Ti-Se) Also this take on Yona's ability to reading emotions on her Wikia explains the way she uses Fe-Se pretty good: "Observation: Though she was sheltered for the majority of her life, Yona quickly developed exceptional observation skills. She is able to detect how people are feeling; for example, when she was in Awa she was able to tell the townspeople had "no light behind their eyes". In the manga she again showed her observation skills when she could tell who had taken the drug 'Nadai' by the bloodthirst in the peoples' eyes." • In one of her conversations with Lili she stated that she will not get revenge on Soo-won not only because she doesn't want to be involved in a cycle of hatred but also because it would cause even more chaos. Also ever since Soo-won's betrayal she was thinking if there's a hidden meaning under what he did, and in Fire Tribe Arc during war scene, she realized Soo-won is trying to help the country in his own ways. There is times she has has found out about what the enemy is going to do such as when she realized Kan Soo-jin's goal in Fire Tribe or Tsuruba was tricking them in Water Tribe Arc. ENxJ's Ni might be hard to spot but it usually appear in their way of looking to the world; being ambitious, a subjective vision of the world and reaching a high goal. Yona's strong ideal about making her kingdom a better place might seem like Fi, i think that is also why she has many xNFP votes but it is definitely Ni, and Se supporting it. "From this point on, i'll stand upon the ground and look out over the country of Kouka. I want to help the people who are being crushed in stiuations of crisis. I won't go back to the castle, because right now there is something i must do." Also she is not INFJ because compared to Soo-won who is Se inf she is able to see the opportunities moment brings and is more realistic. • Her biggest ability/strentgh comes from her deep emotions. She is so good at reading people's emotions and act according to them, which leads her to touch everyone's heart deeply. That is the reason why in the latest chapter she is shown as a better ruler than Soo-won, not because of he is emotionless but because thanks to Yona's strong and talented dominant Fe she is better at uniting people and having positive impact on them. Her understanding how Shin-ah felt because of villagers or why Jaeha didn't want to follow dragon king just because he "has" to do was Fe, if she was a Fi user she would emphatise based on her own feelings she has experienced before since Fi is like a data which saves emotions of experience. As shown many times in manga, because she can read people well she is able to choose the right words. Such as what happened when she went to talking with Soo-won about not starting war with Xing Kingdom in chapter 141 or when she handled the conference with South Kai dignitaries very well in chapter 198. Soo-won's quote in ch 141 also shows well how good she is at choosing the right words since Soo-won is someone who tries to hide his emotions and not act according to them: "What am i silently staring for? She has absolutely no cards to play, there's no time to waste. But why can't i move?" Her saying she understands why Yu-hon hasn't become the king to stopping Soo-won from going on and taking his interest on herself or telling him "Wait, why are you in such hurry? Let's have a chat, after all Soo-won we haven't had a real conversation since the day everything changed." showed us how good she is at handling even the most complex or hopeless situations thanks to her Fe. - Also about Sanguine Dominant...seriously? It feels so off for her. I think she fits Sanguine-Melancholic better. "When the Sanguine and the Melancholy natural tendencies are combined, it produces a people-person who is sensitive, creative, and detail-oriented. The Sanguine-Melancholy is more formal and emotional than the other Sanguine blends. This combination is naturally able to perform in front of others to meet the need of the moment." This is exactly her imo.

Yona (ヨナ, Yona) is the titular protagonist of the manga and anime series, Akatsuki no Yona. She is the Crown princess of Kouka Kingdom, the only heir of Emperor Il and Queen Kashi, and the reincarnation of King Hiryuu.
