I've been writing Francis as a character for fun for 3 years now, and I'm typing him as an INFJ, enneagram 2w1. I'm not going to list the reasons for MBTI choice because it appears we've mostly reached the same consensus. For the Enneagram: Francis' primary motivations are not peace and comfort (9). They are first protecting what is beloved, first France and then Mary...he goes all out to do this, which I think is where people are getting the 8 wing. But this is a very 2 trait. Motivations towards the heart and toward the people that he loves. Also, we have to remember that in stress, 2 goes to 8, so it makes sense why there might be an 8 in a mistype. For the one wing, it's obvious that there's a secondary motivator of being good and just, which is a theme through the entire show (1). 'I wanted to be one kind of king...' ; 'I hope to be a great king some day'. He has a strong moral system, and wants to do what is best for everyone, for his country and for his marriage. I...cannot see anything that isn't a 2w1 for him.
Biography
Firstborn son of Henry and Catherine and Mary's fiance. He and Mary quickly fall in love, but the circumstances surrounding their union are complicated by realpolitik, complex state affairs, and their own flaws.
