Elizabeth Bennet MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Elizabeth Bennet? Elizabeth Bennet is an ENFP personality type in MBTI, 7w6 - so/sx - 714 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, IEE in Socionics.

If you understand the cognitive functions even the least bit without going off into stereotypes, and if you truly paid attention to the theme of the book, you KNOW she's an ENFP. The story is literally about two Fi users getting over their prejudiced judgements of the other and falling in love defying usual social expectations of matrimony and romance. Her Fi first shows up when Mr. Darcy says she's "barely tolerable", by which she proceeds to take offense and subsequently tells her sister about how her pride was wounded by him. The notion of "pride", as it is, isn't of too much concern to Ti-Fe users, and they certainly don't hold grudges for long over personal opinions of others about themselves; while Lizzie is shown to further colour everything about Mr. Darcy with her own negative experience of him. Why does she readily believe Mr. Wickham without trying, or rather, without wanting to look at that situation objectively or at least without using the least bit of discernment to gauge whether Wickham could maybe be wrong? It was because of Lizzie's own personal grudges against Mr. Darcy, knowing him to be arrogant, conceited, and harsh. Mind you, Elizabeth did not budge from her stance even when confronted with an alternate explanation by Caroline Bingley–she flat out refused to take it into consideration and shut it off at once because it contradicted with her feelings about him! In contrast, we can also see how Jane used her Fe-Ti to conclude that what Wickham said might not be entirely the truth, since his side felt rather incomplete (and you need two sides of the argument before coming to a reasonable conclusion) and moreover Bingley would never be in the company of such a selfish and cruel man. Also notice how, out of all the Bennet sisters, Elizabeth is the one who reacts the most strongly at the embarrassing groom-hunting behaviour her mother partakes in? Fi-Te users tend to be very severe critics of those that make them give "the ick", so to speak, and it is further amplified because of the force of the reactionary feelings that come with the judgement; Darcy is another fine example. While the other Bennet sisters are somewhat indifferent to their mother's antics because they understand the necessity of marrying off your daughters for the sake of a happy and prosperous life ahead (since in that time women were not allowed the means to be financially independent and had to marry in order to survive), especially so because Mr. Bennet barely managed his finances well. And when Charlotte, her best friend, agreed to marry Mr. Collins who was an idiot in Elizabeth's opinion, Elizabeth was so personally slighted at Charlotte marrying out of necessity/security where there was no love, that she was convinced "no real confidence could ever subsist between them again"; this makes sense because Elizabeth continues to display idealistic and romantic opinions on love and marriage, which would make her quite the sore thumb in that day and age. This deviation from social norms and harsh judgement (to the point of emotional rejection) toward anyone that ignores personal feelings and preferences in favour of social conformity is what tends to irk Fi users the most out of anything. Even more so if they have Ne. Se users will still be pragmatic in their thinking and understand that stability in the real world is much more important than wasting your life away chasing after an impossible romance fantasy. Elizabeth is undoubtedly an Ne dom. She is described as being quick witted (attributed to the quick, jumpy, association generating characteristic of Ne), idealistic (because of the possibility seeking aspect of Ne, even when the possibility does not align very much with reality), lighthearted and fun-seeking (Ne doms are pleasure seeking and her being a 741 adds into it), and in a lot of instances she has been shown to be distracted by her other thoughts mid conversation. As a counterbalance we have her Si that holds onto experiences that have personally affected her such as Mr. Darcy's comment on her appearance. Her inferior Si also causes her to sometimes neglect social propriety, such as walking into Bingley's residence with her "hem 6-inches deep in mud". Basically in conclusion she's an ENFP.
