started writing response to a comment and then kept writing so um —————————————————————————— FANCY THING EXPLAINING WHY SATORU IS SX5 > E6: —————————————————————————— He definitely comes off as a head type and displays a lot of overthinking and skepticism, which are hallmark behaviors of e6, but his pronounced isolationism (a significant chunk of the series is other characters trying to convince him to express himself or rely on others) and lack of discernible vigilance (dissociating 24/7 except when god or whatever tells him to pay attention) point more towards enneagram 5 If Satoru was a 6 he would most likely be the self-preservation subtype, but there are few similarities to be found besides a mask of warmth or desire for closeness with others. He is routinely dauntless, aloof, and driven. These hardened qualities do exist in the social subtype of 6, but once again he is not noticeably vigilant (compare him to Kenya, a social 6 who is very scrupulous), has no emphasized relationship to authority, and is far too hot headed. He is led entirely by his personal response to guilt and hardly cares to consider the repercussions or consequences of what he does (consider the attempt to kill Kayo’s mother, when he had an outburst and told the entire classroom to shut up for spreading rumors, the frequency of his freudian slips), in contrast to the e6 who is always wary of punishment and especially the so6 who fears stirring the pot or acting without justification. sx6 too can be dismissed very easily given his passivity, meekness, and absence of overt aggression. Instead I believe Satoru is an e5, and the sexual 5 especially is a perfect fit that balances his confidence and timidity, warmth and aloofness.
