Personality

What personality type is Esther Greenwood? Esther Greenwood is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sp/so - 459 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.

She’s an INFP 4w5. For sure. One might firstly mistake her for being cold in the first 30 pages or so, but as you continue reading her thought processes you see she’s just struggling really hard to find her place in the world. She’s always in her head trying to understand what things, situations, her present and future mean to her. How they make her feel. She also has a really good BS detector. Fi doms are good at detecting insincerity and fakeness, hence how she feels about most people she encounters. She knows who she is, what she might want from life but she also knows those arent the things expected of her by the society - she feels like everything that makes her who she is, is not good enough. This is one of the biggest reasons for her depression. These are all Fi. She has multiple interests, a lot of ideas. She wants to be a lot of things, learn a lot. She says she always bounced between ideas and interests ever since she was a child. This is Ne. I think we also need to refer to how INFP 4w5s can have a harder time at actually making their wishes/interests reality sometimes, because they can get lost in their heads and end up procrastinating (sometimes not even doing) things they know they would actually end up loving, out of feeling uncertain with themselves and not knowing whether the ideas in their heads will transfer into the real world. Her Si is apparent as well, you can see it time to time from the way she refers to past memories, how she explains her present with metaphors from her past.. It’s there, much clearer to see than any Se. And for inf Te, she can’t really see herself fitting into the real world, but she keeps on believing that she needs to. She doesn't prefer her own thought processes over those of the society's and pull herself to a better place. She still wants to fit in.
