I think people underestimate the rationality of Fi. Fi wants to analyse and explore its one values and can be quite logical and analytical with its belief system, constantly reflecting on it rationally and trying to find inconsistencies and hypocrisy in it, even if it not always succeeds since it it still very bound to the individual‘s emotions. I personally always saw much Fi in what I know of him. He wanted to life by his own ideas and ideals, independent from society around him and not judged by their standards. Instead he wanted to explore himself in silence. He didn‘t need engaging with people that much and wasn‘t warm or affectionate, like Fe users but more judgmental and brooding. Inwardly he still was deeply emotional and interested in finding out who he is. He was a philosopher more than a pragmatist and most of his practical work and why of life, was the result of his ideas, ideals and philosophical musings. (Ne) He writes about resistance and advocated for peaceful means, based on his ideals, but also his inferior Te shined through when he said that violence is still justitiable under certain circumstances.
