What personality type is David Lynch? David Lynch is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sx/sp - 548 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.
If this comment section isn't the ultimate proof that "CoGniTivE fuNcTiOns" are total pseudoscientific BS, I don't know what is. Nobody can agree on the most basic definitions for anything, and everyone is selectively and arbitrarily cherrypicking various pieces of "evidence" to shoehorn into their own particular, highly subjective theories which are themselves haphazardly and incoherently derived from a variety of sources to the point that every claim everyone makes completely and totally loses anything resembling "meaning" whatsoever. It's like the damn Tower of Babel! Everyone is speaking different languages! What SHOULD be clear, however, to anyone who has even the most basic and obvious understanding of what the very ideas behind such things as being an "intuitive" vs. "sensing" type or whatever are, is that the very IDEA that David Lynch would fit the latter better is so utterly laughable that I can barely even type out the thought without breaking into hysterics. You can waste your time debating all you want about whether you think "muh Ni" or "muh Ne" (and I really mean "muh" as in it is entirely down to YOU as NO ONE can actually agree for anything worth a damn what these things are supposed to mean, or even necessarily which types they are supposed to represent) fits his particular brand of intuitive better, but he's obviously EXTREMELY high in openness on the Big Five and an EXTREMELY obvious N on the standard MBTI, and beyond that all else is irrelevant. I mean you could put a picture of the man next to the definitions of "intuitive" from Jung, Myers, Keirsey, basically ANYONE of note in this field. He is THAT obvious and THAT exemplary an example of it. Personally I think I and F (especially) and P (probably) are also pretty clear in his case but ISFP or any form of S type is so laughable that I just cannot take ANYONE who even entertains the idea remotely seriously.

David Keith Lynch (born January 20, 1946) is an American filmmaker, television director, visual artist, musician and occasional actor. Known for his surrealist films, he has developed his own unique cinematic style which has been dubbed "Lynchian" and is characterized by its dream imagery and meticulous sound design. The surreal and, in many cases, violent elements to his films have earned them the reputation that they "disturb, offend or mystify" their audiences.
