Albus Dumbledore MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Albus Dumbledore? Albus Dumbledore is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 1w2 - so/sx - 152 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.

Why a 5 fix? Because he's wise? Dumbledore is empathetic and has been through a lot, plus has lots of Ni-Fe, which is why he can give good advice to younger people who are struggling. Enneagram 5 DESIRES knowledge. He just has this knowledge from all the long life experience. I think his head fix is a 7. Dumbledore's biggest flaw was always being too tempted by the most simplistic, pleasurable things, that could quickly take the pain and guilt of his younger years away from him. He rarely thought about the repercussions of his actions until it was too late. Luckily he was self-aware enough to disclose all this information to Harry before his death. Even the way he treated Harry as a baby - Dumbledore might have been aware that taking him to live with the Dursley's wouldn't be the most ideal living situation, but his main point was “well at least you got away from Voldemort who wants to kill you”. Dumbledore mostly wants to see the positive in every situation, is cheerful and often seen indulging in an eccentric and hedonistic lifestyle. He possesses knowledge, yes, but prefers to drop hints or lay out a “path” for Harry to follow than to impart it directly, which is for example what Snape, an actual Enneagram 5, is doing, or holds him to the standard of expecting Harry to know certain things. Actually, the way Dumbledore operates overall is not Enneagram 5-ish in the slightest. He is much more playful, or mysterious, whenever he wants to share his insights. Whereas Enneagram 5 types seem mysterious when they are doing anything BUT sharing insights. from funkymbtifiction on tumblr: “1 and 7 are both frustration types, meaning they want things to be better than they are and strive for that, so the 1 makes the 7 finish what they start out of its commitment to obligations and duties, and the 7 allows the 1 to open up and have more fun, rather than refraining from it like a lot of 1s do (1s tend to think pleasure when you should be doing your duty is inappropriate, so they have to train themselves to loosen up and not feel that everything is ‘mine’ to do). The 2 is helpful, oriented toward others, and also duty-driven (I should be a nicer, more considerate person). So that combo is strong-willed, opinionated, but also helpful. The reason why it’s called the 'teacher’ is that the 7 fix would help the 1 fix bring whimsy and fun into its sense of usefulness – like Mary Poppins with the children (“for every chore that must be done, there is an element of fun!”).”
