What personality type is Severus Snape? Severus Snape is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sx/sp - 548 in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.

Another great point: He scolds Hermione precisely for her Si-Te. When he asks a question and she replies he criticizes her for having copied the reply word-by word from a book. He clearly shows a preference for creativity and originality, wanting her to come up with something by herself, and a dislike of people who just follow instructions or repeat them word-by word. In fact he seems to feel superior to such people in intellect and intelligence, which makes much more sense for INTJs than ISTJs. Also he doesn’t care about fitting in like you can see in his appearance- greasy hair, always the same clothes, etc. ISTJs want to fit in with society and be seen as a good model citizen. And another thing is the difference in how ISTJs and INTJs see society and their role in it. ISTJs don’t tend to think of themselves as superior to others, they want to fit in in a grounded way- not surpass the others, but be part of the others. INTJs see themselves often as above others in intelligence, intellect and their ability to read people, they care less about fitting in, but STANDING OUT. They would rather be lonely and unpopular, but real masterminds whose intellect is unsurpassed, than fit in and be just one of the normal guys, not smarter or better in any way, just another typical model citizen. Snape, like Voldemort, always seeked the first. He didn’t care whether his liking of the dark arts made him unpopular, he didn’t try to wash his hair more and be more social, or do anything to fit in better. He wanted to be part of the Death Eaters, of something bigger, to „revolutionize“ the world. And this also explains more why he has such high expectations of hus students and became so immensely frustrated when Harry didn’t try to become a better occlumens. Si- dims of course also want students to improve, but their Si has an easier time to rest in how things are now, whereas Ni is never satisfied, always has a bigger picture and a grander vision to work towards.
