Personality

What personality type is Claude Monet? Claude Monet is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sp/sx - 458 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.

As a fellow INTJ artist who loves using bright limited color palettes and criticizing-academy-but-at-the-same-time-not-doing-halfassed-crap I definetively can understand why he's being typed as INTJ; while at his time he was an iconoclast who valued an unappreciated way of painting (plein air) and restlessly fighted for it, his paintings looked pleasant to the eye and it's subjects weren't esoteric or strange, but there's a reason why he didn't paint that kind of subject (if you wanna beat academic tradition and present a new way of creating art you gotta be accessible to the public in first place); and of course there's a whole solid system built underneath them, the principles of the art movement known later as Impressionism. ENTJ might also be an option.

Biography

Oscar-Claude Monet (14 November 1840 – 5 December 1926) was a founder of French Impressionist painting, and the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the movement's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before nature, especially as applied to plein air landscape painting. The term "Impressionism" is derived from the title of his painting Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which was exhibited in 1874 in the first of the independent exhibitions mounted by Monet and his associates as an alternative to the Salon de Paris.Monet's ambition of documenting the French countryside led him to adopt a method of painting the same scene many times in order to capture the changing of light and the passing of the seasons.
