ISFJ voters, please tell me, where exactly is the dominant si? i feel like you look at his behavior, see "fe" because he's nice to others and then decide on ISFJ because, to you, it seems like the type that would make the most sense for him si is a perceptive, sensing introverted function that focuses on the outside world and looks for a harmonious relationship with the objects it comes into contact with. as carl jung himself stated, si is the "artistic expression of the object", since it looks for deep meaning and impressions in the material world. namely, that's why it's mistaken for "past ideas/attachment to the past"; it continously looks for objective notions in the tangible world in order to trust it, and use it as a guide. most of the times, the si user will be attached to an impression they had in the past a quite simple example of this: i was talking to my friend, an ISTJ, and asked him his thought of cats. he responded with "oh, i love animals. but still, somehow, whenever i think of cats, i'm reminded of bad things. like rain, sadness, witches... a downcast atmosphere". that's his subjective impression on the physical shape of cats, which would be the "object" on the si dominant's mind. this is how si works inferior ne hence manifests as the complete trust in these subjective impressions, whereas disregarding the other things it could mean. the si dominant can grow attached to the impression as to say "i know this is right because i experienced its impression" - instead of rationalizing that, just because they had a personal experience with the object, it won't necessarily mean this impression translates to its intrinsical nature. if this friend of mine was unhealthy, ie, he could say that he dislikes cats, based on that impression now, fi, on the other hand, isn't focused on the information it receives from the outside world, but rather on creating a personal idea of what's ideal. it will create an internal system before interacting with the environment or with external ideas, and will only then use this data to improve this individual and moralistic system, always comparing the outside data with an already existing concept of what's personally valuable inferior te therefore translates to the creation of these internal sentimentally valuable systems with the disregard of external facts or objective data now, dr. tenma's arc is entirely focused on him creating this personal system. he never used his perception of the outside world or the events that happen around him, or even past or present impressions, to act. instead, his attention converges to an internal, personal idea of what's right. it is completely and absolutely disconnected to the external and material world. doesn't "trust what happens" (px), but what's been analysed from a situation (jx) every single one of his actions are made accordingly to the conclusions he came with that mindset, which interposes his thinking function: te. can't you see that he is convinced that he should kill johan because he believes that is the right thing to do whilst completely ignoring that 1) he could easily be killed, 2) the police is after him, 3) there is no guarantee that this will work? he literally incriminates himself and doesn't care less, never taking advantage of any external objective information to act, like te, or even fe would do. and he does know that, he just doesn't care. additionally, his fi also contrasts with johan's fe, who, in order to manipulate others, continously browses people's feelings in x situations either way, the only arguments i see for si is "routine, traditionalism, dutifulness" which really, i even have to laugh, isn't the jungian definition of this type at all. those are merely stereotypes and I'm surprised no one hasn't still mentioned that
