I agree with the common consensus!:D Bilbo’s journey in The Hobbit is growing from his comfort zone and daily rituals that he carried from his family, such as his cleaning schedule, meal schedule, and want for predictability. He has a Si-Fe loop of carrying traditional hobbit habits (hehe silly word play), through Si filtered through Fe values of its connection to family and local culture. However, at the beginning he is quite blind to Ti-Ne and if using grip theory Ne is used to catastrophe the unknown. Bilbos want for security through his daily rituals and systems I believe explains him being an enneagram 6!:) (I think he could be mistaken for a 9, however, I don’t see repressed anger or conflict aviation to be his vice over the 6’s core fear of security. Though I do believe he has a 9 in his tritype which explains his tactics in finding security.) As the book progresses, the reader sees him develop his Ti-Ne by the Ne giving him lightbulb moment of how to get out of a challenging predicament, while Ti helps him make a well thought out plan, that in the end saves everyone. Through this he becomes the excellent burglar that Gandalf believes him to be. :D Si-Fe-Ti-Ne all working together in harmony! I think it’s pretty neat how his character development translates very well to his growth in his Typology as well! My apologies if some of this didn’t make sense. Feel free to ask for clarification if you’d like or counter arguments if you believe me to be mistaken! Thank you very much for your time. :)
