I love her discussions with Frodo; because there’s such beautiful fe fi contrast there; whereas Frodo only does what he does because he feels morally obligated; beyond that he has no desire or intent to look beyond his quest; his lack of ambition leaves him with the simple desire to complete what he feels aligns with his compass; whereas in contrast you have Galadriel who can see beyond it all; and can imagine what she could do with the ring; and further the external affirmation she’d receive; thereby hoping to affirm the external compass of ethics that she has; and thereby affirm herself… it’s absolutely fantastic
Biography
Galadriel is an Elf of Noldorin, Vanyarin, and Telerin heritage. She was born during the Years of the Trees in Eldamar and left it for Beleriand in Middle-earth after the Darkening of Valinor, although she didn't swear the Oath of Fëanor. She is proud, skilled, and powerful like the Noldor in general, but this is tempered by deep wisdom and compassion. She excels in diplomacy and strategic leadership and is considered one of the most powerful Elves. She co-rules Lothlórien as the Lady of Lórien and the Lady of Light with her Sindarin husband Lord Celeborn, although they never called themselves its king and queen, rather its guardians in the absence of King Amroth. She wields Nenya, the Elven Ring of Water, which prevents decay in Lórien and conceals and protects it from evil. She is known as a powerful sorceress, and some consider her mysterious enough to be cautious about her. Tolkien Gateway: https://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Galadriel
