This version of Batman fascinates me since he feels the most driven by trauma compared to other versions of Batman. He's incredibly cold to his allies and unlike the mainstream comics Batman he rarely has moments of kindness. The whole 'Bruce Wayne is the mask and Batman is who he really is' feels like it applies to this version of the character. I get a strong impression that he never really stops being Batman. He's most similar to his DCAU counterpart, which makes sense since they're both 5s. DCAU Batman would've died alone had it not been for Terry since by his own admission, he was never really able to live normally or be much of a friend or father. That version of Bruce Wayne never believed he would ever be happy. Arkham Bats is the same way, he has an extreme tendency to isolate himself from others and take on massive burdens without much justification. He comes off as borderline suicidal throughout Arkham Knight. This is why I don't buy his whole romance with Talia, they have zero chemistry and yet he's apparently infatuated with her. I'm a little biased on this though since I think Talia is a lame love interest for Batman and I hate most versions of her. This Batman's use of Fi is really strange too, the batmobile torture bit in Knight would probably be out of character for modern comics Batman, the league side quest in Knight too - Batman having trouble with not giving Ra's the Lazarus is a pretty big stretch for the whole 'no killing' thing. Not providing someone with immortality is in no way comparable to killing them, and Prime Batman has straight up stabbed Ra's before knowing full well he'd come back. Even his admission that he would have saved Joker feels strange. I don't know if most other versions of Batman would do so. In retrospect despite my love for these games they're really horribly written and make Batman look like an idiot. He couldn't figure out the Clayface twist despite having literal x ray vision and at no point questions the idea that Joker apparently instantly got better after taking the cure. Arkham Knight especially has him making horribly stupid decisions that basically no other version of Batman would ever do. People hate how he was done dirty in the Suicide Squad game but I already hated that whole fear gas thing in Arkham Knight's ending and how it's barely acknowledged in the new game. Terrible direction for the character.
