[1/7] ¶ This is maybe the best I've seen concerning both the quality and quantity of arguments on a profile in this site. But something that all these comments lack is juxtaposition, which is something I believe is crucial in appropriately judging someone's type. ¶ As you should know, Jungian typology refers to one's pre-established mindset toward information around them; one's philosophy of life; how one judges and perceives the world. These things refer to one's inner psychology rather than one's outer behavior. But to gain a more intelligible understanding of these deep and complex mindsets, we should find a set of personifications of these distinct mindsets. ¶ For the INFJ, I have chosen Plato, as I believe that the INFJ's philosophy is "oneness," which refers to their tendency to develop a quintessential ideal that unites all things and humans under a transcendent context. ¶ This description is in reference to the INFJ's dominant Ni, which is the function that pursues an overall, quintessential idea by unifying insightful visions. It also refers to their Fe/Ti axis, which is characterized by focusing on the basic commonalities of objects. This axis is in the middle of their functional stack, so there is kind of a balance in comfortability in handling sentiments and logical judgments. ¶ However, the INFJ, by default, still has a conscious preference for Fe over Ti, so it's naturally paired with Ni in their consciousness. So the INFJ, like the INFP, has a natural tendency to put humans and individuals under a 'noumenal' context—they are driven to understand the essence of human sentiments, which gives them an empathic nature. - But when the INFJ intuits the essence of an individual's context, they then consider this under a greater Fe/Ti whole, and as a result they become impassioned concerning that circumstance's sense of justice. So, you get quotes like these: ≻ Plato: "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." ≻ Plato: “All men are by nature equal, made all of the same earth by one workman.” ≻ Plato: “If women are expected to do the same work as men, we must teach them the same things.” ≻ Plato: "It is beautiful [to wish to] add another's light to your own." ≻ Plato: "No man should bring children into the world who is unwilling to persevere to the end in their nature and education." ♦ Now, we can compare this 'contextual' insight (Ni) coupled with 'transpersonal' ideals with Rooney Mara's insights: ≻ Mara: "In order to have understanding, you need forgiveness, compassion, and empathy." ≻ Mara: "How do we get to equality? I don't think it comes from fear. I think it comes from understanding." ≻ Mara: "Because I'm highly empathetic, it's easy for me to put myself in the character's shoes. It's, you know, finding the truth of the moment." ≻ Mara: "It's really hard coming of age in today's society, where society wants you to make the decision of what you want to do with your life by the time you're 16 years old. Most kids don't know what they want to do. How could they? They haven't lived in the real world yet." ¶ I think her insights on empathy focus on an impersonal understanding of others, rather than focusing on an inner harmony of some kind. Notice in one of the quotes, she sympathizes through circumstance (Ni) rather than inner intensity (Fi). [On Mara's Fe/Ti axis] ¶ To strengthen my proposition on Rooney Mara's type, I'll explain her Fe/Ti axis by contrasting her mindset with other INTJs, who have Te/Fi in the middle of their function stack. ¶ On the INTJ, I believe that their archetypal philosophy is "mission-setting," which refers to their preference to tenaciously set out a path for themselves, and achieve idealistic but functional visions. This coincides with Michael Pierce's statement that a major aspect of the INTJ mindset is their "will to power": ≻ "The INTJ is known for having a tenacious will. This will is directed towards the acquisition of power, and this power often takes the form of knowledge and understanding. Te not only seeks to adapt to objective data, but also reworks its own mindset and judgments in order to have control over its environment." https://youtu.be/YRxw2YJ9K7I ¶ This also illustrates their egoistic philosophy—the mindset of solely pursuing one's own goals—even if they are altruistic on the surface. I think the embodiment of the INTJ mindset would be Nietzsche. He basically posited that one should pursue their own interests in the name of the advancement of mankind:
