As an addendum to my other comment, here are a bunch of quotes about John Deacon from people who know/knew him (you can find more here http://www.deaky.net/rain/talkingE.html). "John is the anchor of the band." (Si) "John's got a good business mind." (Si-Te) "He's very strange, but he's the leader on the business side, studies the stock market, understands the details." (Si-Te) "John never said a word. He never said anything, never spoke. He just got on with it, did it, but you're talking about a completely unremarkable character." (Si-Te, zero Fe) "He was extremely intelligent and worked very hard at school. I think he took to learning the guitar in possibly the same way he looked at education. He was keen and did it properly." (Si, probable Te) "We used to call him Easy Deacon, not because of any sexual preferences, but because he'd say something was easy without it sounding big-headed. I remember saying to him once, 'I'm going to have to knock off the gigs a bit to revise for my 'A' levels. What about you?' 'No,' he said, 'I don't need to. I've never failed an exam yet, and I've never revised for one.' Ultimately, he was just confident, with a phenomenally logical mind." (Si-Te) "He is very independent within the group. He was always the first one out of bed in the morning...if you gave John a time for departure next morning, he'd be there in the hotel lobby ready and waiting five or ten minutes early. He is very quiet and very strong, and always very sane. " (Si-Te) For what it's worth, you can also see a lot of this stuff in his few taped interviews. He's extremely dry and matter-of-fact and only incidentally responds to the more emotional aspects of any given conversation. So unless you want to argue that he somehow had no affinity at all for his own auxiliary function, ISFJ is a strange typing for John Deacon. He clearly has Te, and strong Te at that.
