What personality type is Seymour Guado? Seymour Guado is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sx/so - 458 in Enneagram, in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
Seymour is an INFJ. He believes he's acting in the best interests of Spira's people by becoming Sin and killing them all, because ultimately a dead person can feel neither suffering nor happiness again, but if they are alive, Sin will ensure they feel more suffering than happiness over the remainder of their life. You wouldn't quantify this as an exact calculation, rather its an internal, logically constructed belief indicative of his NiTi. An Fi user would be more blunt about their motivations and would appear selfish - I hate the world, and therefore will destroy it. That isn't to say that Seymour's motivations aren't selfish, as an unhealthy FJ his Fe lets him appear as if he's acting in the best interests of the people in a twisted way. In reality Seymour's mother made the situation clear to Yuna when she described his upbringing at Baaj Temple and being hated for being Half Human/Half Guado. I believe he's 5w4 with 3w2 in the tritype. He's pursuing the outcome of his philosophical beliefs (5w4), not trying to be "more useful" or "competent" (4w5).
Biography
Seymour Guado is the secondary antagonist of Final Fantasy X, as well as a guest in a battle. As a maester in the temple of Yevon, Seymour has influence over Spira, but uses his power towards a sinister end. According to the Final Fantasy X Scenario Ultimania Seymour is the Minister of Temple Affairs, which maintains the temples' rituals and teachings and oversees the summoners. This position allows him the authority to handle records of the sealed histories. He is also the High Priest of Macalania Temple. Seymour is a skilled mage and a summoner himself. Due to his harsh and lonely upbringing, Seymour has nihilistic views on life.
