What personality type is Gentaro Yumeno? Gentaro Yumeno is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sp/sx - 594 in Enneagram, RCUAI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.
im not caught up on the hypmic lore so forgive me for any inaccuracies ^^ Ti: Amazing at analyzing and understanding situations. An example would be during the FP drama track when they were gambling together and Gentaro starts counting probabilities in his head lol ("The only rolls that can beat a 4-5-6 are three of a kind or ace out, and the probability of any of those is 216 to 1"). His attempts at prying into Ramuda's mind could also be an example of this ("I’m aware that you are a person whose true nature is more difficult to unearth than my own. After close and careful observation, I just can’t help but think so."). He definitely has that INTP curiosity as he wishes to pick apart people for inspiration for his own stories and just out of his own interest. Ne: Probably one of the most obvious of his functions. His ability to create scenarios and stories is a big part of his character and one of the things that defines him. I don't think I need to go into depth for this. Si: Pretty obvious if you look deep enough into his character and especially the stories he creates. Forgive me if this is now outdated information but he does tend to create stories based off of his past experiences. An example of this would be scenario liar (under the assumption that it wasn't a lie) as well as those parts in the manga where his manuscripts are described: ("The brotherly love between the twins moved me to tears, you know", "The isolated struggle of the young man engulfed in the establishment's conspiracy is sure to hook the reader!", "The elder of the twins stopping an organization from kidnapping and using people as test subjects really got me all fired up!"). Once again under the assumption that the Gentaro twin theory is real, you can see a great amount of Si in so much of his work. Fe: He uses Fe mainly when picking out lies from others, but another example of Fe (inferior) would be in his past. Taking information from Scenario Liar, he became very closed off due to past experiences and built a wall around himself. He viewed himself as someone not worthy of having friends and even tried to convince himself that he didn't need any ("What could he want with someone so reviled? Or see in someone whose unpleasantness so unrivaled? “I have no need for friends”, I replied") once again im not caught up on hypmic lore so feel free to correct me on anything :)
Biography
Gentaro Yumeno, a.k.a. Phantom, is a novel author and the second member of Fling Posse. Gentaro is an enigmatic character, lying and omitting information to put distance between himself and other people. He has excellent observational skills. He's often considered unconventional to others, which is only augmented by his old fashioned manners. Despite these distinctive qualities, he hates attention. Gentaro often makes poetic statements and yet he's very realistic and doesn't really believe in fantasies. While he attempts to maintain an eerie calmness, his real emotions seep through sometimes. Gentaro’s personality underneath the lies is actually rather awkward. He is socially avoidant, has an anxious side, and doesn't get along with people. His behaviour is shown to be a protective shield from the world, believing that, as long as he doesn't tell the whole truth, he cannot be hurt. This distance is a safety blanket of sorts for him, but it means he rarely gets close to others.
