gentaro… you really are something. while he is undoubtedly difficult to type, due to it being difficult to tell when he is genuine, i think it is safe to say that he is sexual five gentaro appears reserved and collected on the outside, but is shown to be a highly romantic person with a vibrant imagination. he works in the arts, after all. while he displays the typical five traits, he is far more intense and emotionally sensitive than self-preservation and social gentaro absolutely falls into the sx5 stereotype of artists who ‘display extreme emotional expressiveness through their artistic creations but are cut off in many ways from others in the everyday world’. his work and lyric writing are how we learn about the individual beneath the surface, with gentaro voicing his adoration of his friends or communicating his hope for the future through them the way he conducts himself in conversation and within relationships definitely implies that he has the severe trust issues found within sx5. this, paired with his inability to see himself as human, leads for him to search for ‘a high exemplar of connection is so exacting that it's very hard to pass (his) test with consistency’. his constant lying and fooling of others can be viewed as him testing his acquaintances, to see if they fit his standards. only then will he begin to let down his walls and show them the person underneath ‘gentaro yumeno’ another factor to consider is his relationship with fling posse. the three of them instantly ‘clicked’, despite their differences. gentaro then displayed the typical sx5 behaviour of becoming infatuated with them very quickly, spending a lot of time around dice (who was less concerned about distancing himself from the group) in a manner he had never displayed previously gentaro is also shown to isolate or become despondent the moment he is hurt in any form, as shown by when hifumi criticises his clothing. he seemingly has a shaky sense of identity, relying upon how he presents himself and the aforementioned clothing. despite this, he is no stranger to confrontation, with the scene involving hifumi being a good example. another instance of this is his tendency to voice distaste towards people he deems unbearable or particularly irritating. he finds it entertaining to stir up conflict and watch the results of it with all of this considered, i wholeheartedly believe that gentaro yumeno is sexual five. while we definitely lack some of the resources to come to the strongest of conclusions, i think the pieces are definitely there. ill probably come back to this when more content has been released with him showing the person underneath gentaro yumeno a bit more ^_^

Gentaro Yumeno, a.k.a. Phantom, is a novel author and the second member of Fling Posse. Gentaro is an enigmatic character, lying and omitting information to put distance between himself and other people. He has excellent observational skills. He's often considered unconventional to others, which is only augmented by his old fashioned manners. Despite these distinctive qualities, he hates attention. Gentaro often makes poetic statements and yet he's very realistic and doesn't really believe in fantasies. While he attempts to maintain an eerie calmness, his real emotions seep through sometimes. Gentaro’s personality underneath the lies is actually rather awkward. He is socially avoidant, has an anxious side, and doesn't get along with people. His behaviour is shown to be a protective shield from the world, believing that, as long as he doesn't tell the whole truth, he cannot be hurt. This distance is a safety blanket of sorts for him, but it means he rarely gets close to others.
