Throughout the series, her and daisy have a very special relationship. Basira idolizes her strength and power (The Hunt) which keeps Daisy relapsing in it to feed their idealized fantasy, where it's them against the world. When Daisy is no longer pursuing the hunt, Basira is thrown off and her fantasy is broken. She moves to idolize Gertrude, then working to be more like her, efficient, strong and in control. She consistently lacks self-awareness, which feeds into her hypocrisy. Likely this is caused by her black and white thinking, wanting to fix things in the most efficient (1 fix, maybe also 1V, 3V?) way which makes her overlook a lot of things. In the big picture, she lacks real world awareness, constantly burying herself in working towards a goal or also just being in an idealized version of her and Daisies relationship. When she shoots Daisy, she chose to honor her wish and chose reality instead of living ideally and joining her in the hunt.
