He simply follows whatever path that has been taught to him since he was a boy - "this is the way". He doesn't have a clear purpose in life, so he sorts of "collects" short-term purposes by finding bounty hunting jobs here and there - that would be hell for a 1. Like most 6s, if he stops doing what he does, he gets completely lost and without direction in life. He didn't take care of the little green guy because it was the right thing to do, but because he was both loyal to him - after getting emotionally attached to him - and because he was given a task by the mandalorian taskmaster - some mix of the two, as well as some echo into his childhood (attachment to past feelings) and being left alone to take care of himself. He takes care of that child as if he were taking care of the young boy he once was, who was left alone in the universe. Actually, he didn't even ask why he had to take the little green guy to a Jedi as the task was given to him. He just did it because that was his task. No questions asked. And as a quintessential 6w5, his core fear is losing his guidance and stability - not for any reason he had to go search for other mandalorians as soon as his past mates were killed. Also, he was very skeptical of everything and everyone, and a very independent person, with great hands-on skills. He is a clear-cut 6w5. I have no idea where you guys got primary 1w9 from, and not 6w5 instead, given the facts.
