Personality

What personality type is The Ghoul / Cooper Howard? The Ghoul / Cooper Howard is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sx/sp - 864 in Enneagram, SCUEN in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.

I can see Si, Fi, and Te. Two hundred years pass and the goal of finding his family is still what drives him as well as his grudge against Vault-Tech. He sticks to what he knows: shooting from his time in the Marines and lasso skills from playing a sheriff. He even wears his old sheriff costume underneath his duster. After he is blacklisted from movies he still sticks to what he knows by playing a cowboy at children's parties. He's been a lasso-wielding cowboy for 200+ years. He has a moralistic streak and values personal freedom. He doesn't like Vault-Tec banning dogs due to his close connection to his dog Roosevelt. And two hundred years later he also has a soft spot for Dogmeat. He doesn't like the sheriff character being rewritten as more ruthless and violent. He also carries a grudge for the lethal design flaws in the T-45 power armor and isn't shy about bringing it up with Bud. He later exploits the same design flaws in the T-60 armor. Overall, he's shown to be a loner. He works solo as a bounty hunter and even pre-war he is detached from any social circles. He's pretty blunt and no-nonsense. He hangs up on Henry, wonders why his wife is working with Vault-Tec assholes, etc. The Vault-Tec wrap-up party at his own home is full of people yet only one person he knew attended. He wanted to escape the city life and live a private life on a ranch. He does have a connection to another ghoul, Roger, with whom he shares the fear of going feral and maybe reminds him of his time in the Marines with wounded comrades. He puts Roger out of his misery after they share memories of ice cream and apple pie. He's deliberate as a bounty hunter and doesn't like getting sidetracked from his main goals. He thinks things over before acting and is efficient. He sets things up: In the soup scene (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly homage) he has the daughter out of view so the father will be shaken and intimidated by assuming the worst. The decision to listen in on his wife at Vault-Tec was difficult for him and he second-guessed himself multiple times. He decides going after the truth is worth the risk. The choice to listen in on Vault-Tec shows he is willing to sacrifice himself for a higher moral duty. It makes me think of Marshal Will Kane in High Noon played by Gary Cooper, one of the actors Cooper Howard is inspired by. Even with all his conviction, the shock of what his wife says freezes him in a panic attack. He was so unprepared for what he heard he was unable to function. He's so engrained in his ways and holds long grudges where there is immorality which makes me think of ISTJ. Not to mention he maintained his supply of anti-feral chems for who knows how long. After 200 years his inferior Ne has developed more, though he is still rigid over grudges. He equates Lucy with Vault-Tec and takes out his anger and resentment on her. I wonder if his arc in season 2 will continue with him becoming more of a good and just sheriff character like he played in films. Maybe he will with Lucy's influence as she is trying to be a good person and shows she can survive while still being compassionate.
