Theodore Finch MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Theodore Finch? Theodore Finch is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sx/sp - 548 in Enneagram, SLUEI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.
Very hard to type him considering he’s so mentally unhealthy, personally I believe he’s an exxp. Not sure whether he’s an ENTP or ESFP but I do have an argument for both. ESFP arguments- He clearly shows se in when he tries to bring Violet (INFP) back to the present moment. When Violet asks him about his past, he walks away instead and tries to avoid any conversations about what happened as a child. For an example of his fi, when asked by Violet what he is most afraid of; he says losing his sister. He tries his best to be considerate of others at all times like when Violet dropped her books and he threw over the table so she wasn’t embarrased. Definetly has values and morals that he sticks to throughout the film which is an example of his te. Finch pulls data from all parts of his brain, his ni. ENTP arguments- For his ne, he constantly has “crazy” ideas such as when he puts his bed into his wardrobe ect. For ti, he’s always very interested in theories and is able to consider whether ideas are logical to *him*. They’re not always logical to others but he would definetly be able to say why they are logical in his opinion. For Fe, there are many ocassions in which he decided to persuade Violet into going outside by expressing his ideas to her openly. For example; when he decided to be her partner for the school project as a way to get closer to her and to help her get outside more. A perfect idea and a more perfect example of fe. For si, what a sterotypical si user. He stores so many facts about subjects that interest him inside his brain and always seems to know something about a paticular subject. 4w5 arguments- Although it is very uncommon for people/characters to be 4w5 and ENTP or ESFP, this can happen. From research that I have found, ENTPs or ESFPs that are also 4w5 are linked to personality disorders and of course Finch does have a personality disorder. As I have already said about this being uncommon, there are some cases in which this does exist. For example: Connor Murphy from Dear Evan Hansen. Connor is an ESFP and also a 4w5 who struggles with a personality disorder. It all links in. His display of ennegram type 4 is so clearly his dominant function with his urge to be different and to stay away from labels best he can. For 5, this is self explainatory. Definetly a 4w5. I’m down to hear any arguments for inxp, though.
