What personality type is Acheron? Acheron is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sp/sx - 461 in Enneagram, RLOEN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.
“Acheron...Merely a borrowed name. You know my nature, remember my deeds... Thus, I am Acheron.” Someone needed to actually bring some evidence forward regarding Acheron’s true nature based on the evidence we have available to analyze, so I’m actually going to be going through some quotes of hers that indicate her MBTI type since that’s what’s being contested the most at the moment. With that said, let me begin: “Our journey begins anew. Life passes like a fleeting rain, eventually merging with the ground. May our next encounter be... under a clear sky.” -abstract analysis of the transient, fleeting nature of life and its decisive end. Alludes to a future encounter under a clear sky, or better conditions/circumstances (Ni)- “Dreams, in essence, are meaningless. Their purpose is painted by the backdrop of life. Yet, if that backdrop is "emptiness"... then dreams are reduced to colorless, hollow shells.” -This is pure Ni coupled with inferior Se. Dreams or symbolic ideals take on the essence of life, whereas the actual sensory reality is the background from which their purpose is derived. She makes the observation that if the backdrop or world is meaningless, then so too are the dreams spurned from it- “As the raindrops tumble from the crimson leaves, their pitter-patter on my umbrella whispers gently to me. In these moments... I find brief serenity.” -detailed Se imagery taking in the moment, leading to a brief moment of repose- “If one carries a blade, it's bound to be used to cut something down. My reason for drawing my sword — past, present, or future — remains singular.” -Very clear Ni-Te-Fi. Singularly defined, convergent, and pragmatic reason for why she wields her weapon, not driven by values but by purpose, but alludes to her hidden, personal reason for fighting as well- “Peaches: They embody life's delights and pleasures, but are equally fragile and short-lived... Such regret is inevitable, so let it be.” -Gives personal symbolic meaning to her favorite fruit. Rather than focusing on her personal sentiment towards it, instead abstracts it into a universal concept about the ephemeral nature of life (Ni-Fi)- “Black holes aren't spectacular, nor are they fierce. They're silent, like a lone, forlorn gaze watching over you and me... and then gently they consume everything, bestowing a frigid, silent embrace.” -Ni-Te analysis utilizing vivid imagery to describe the nature of a black hole, which is also a hidden metaphor for the finality of life- “Seeking knowledge, craving revelation, striving to exist... humans traverse the path of fate.” -Pretty clear Ni-Te-Fi explanation about the personal and universal quest for truth, wisdom, and destiny- “Never turn back — the path behind is gone.” -values the future while rejecting the past, Ni/Se over Si- “The distant vistas are hazy... but must surely hold beauty.” -foresight, piercing the foggy veil to see what might lie ahead with a sense of surety and of the sublime. (Ni-Fi)- “Even before the abyss of a black hole... we still have a choice.” -recognition of fate and consequentiality, but also taking ownership over what one does have personal control over. (Ni-Te-Fi)- “Existence is fleeting as the dawn's dew, destined for oblivion.” I feel like I’ve made my point pretty clear at this point. The actual quotes we have on Acheron are highly indicative of her being an INTJ, she talks in abstractions, symbolism, about universal truths, the nature of fate, reality, oblivion, teleological relationships. Her whole character is centered around these themes, and I really struggle to see how people are trying to paint her as an ISFP simply because she values her own feelings and isn’t insecure about them or trying to repress them. She is a perfect characterization of an INTJ who is deeply philosophical in nature and relatively in touch with their tertiary Fi, but by no means is that the leading force in her psyche. When all of her quotes are absolutely dripping with Ni, it’s pretty clear that is the most obvious function she uses by far. She also shows very little signs of Fe, nothing really pertaining to connection, group values, or trying to maintain external harmony or relationships, so I would rule out INFJ as well. I would have to do further contemplation before deciding on other aspects of her typology, but she is definitely very focused on meaning, identity, and her personal journey, as well as detached analysis, so 4w5 or 5w4 would probably make the most sense for her enneagram type.
