Biography

The halo effect is a cognitive bias in which an individual's overall impression of a person, company, brand, or product influences their perceptions of specific traits associated with that entity. Essentially, it's the tendency to let one positive quality or impression about something or someone influence judgments about other unrelated characteristics or qualities. For instance, if someone finds a person physically attractive, they might automatically assume that this person also possesses other positive attributes, such as intelligence, kindness, or competence, even without direct evidence supporting these assumptions. Similarly, in business or marketing, if a company has a positive reputation for one product, people might extend this positive impression to other products or services offered by the same company, assuming they are all of high quality.
