Biography
A power distribution lineman or powerline technician (for you Canucks) installs, repairs and maintains equipment within power distribution systems such as common utility poles, transmission towers and other high voltage equipment within the power grid. Typically linemen work in bucket trucks but they may occasionally be required to climb the traditional way using specialized equipment such as gaffs and climbing spurs. It is a strenuous and dangerous but somewhat exciting and rewarding career.
