It has never been proven that death penalty actually reduces crime. Every argument in favor of death penalty is emotional. While defenders of death penalty try to mask their arguments as rational, as if killing bad people is the logical thing to do, it's just the desire to see the people who represent everything they hate die. And we may have valid reasons to hate those people, but we can't let these emotions get in the way of reason. Emotions are easy to manipulate. Every time fascism has taken over it was by manipulating those "negative" emotions, that's why every fascist supports death penalty. And of course murderers and such would be just the start, if you give the state the power to kill people, whoever these people are, it won't be far from start killing minorities and political dissidents.
