Rodrick Heffley MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Rodrick Heffley? Rodrick Heffley is an ESTP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - sp/sx - 738 in Enneagram, SCUEN in Big 5, SEE in Socionics.

We can all (mostly) agree that he is an ESTP, but I wrote some explanation because it hasn't been explained that much and it COULD be helpful. [Note: The numbers under examples indicate the movie in franchise] Se: Rodrick is all about living in the moment, sensory experiences and having fun, he acts on his feet and reacts as he receives. He is impulsive and acts without considering the outcome (Ni inferior). He takes thing at face value (his essay about the world in 100 years ago₍₂₎). His Se is also apparent in his way of teasing Greg (Se-Fe), physical pranks and the way he draws attention to himself (pretending to drown in order to get Heather's attention₍₃₎, or every time he dresses and acts emo). His advice to Greg about drumming is: "Watch and learn, earthworm₍₂₎.", which shows his method of teaching is by observing the action. Ti: Since it's an auxiliary function, it serves as a tool for Se. Rodrick often views the rules of his parents through his own logic and what looks right to him, in order to find the easiest solutions for problems and escape work (his own rules₍₂₎, the process of helping with Greg's assignment₍₂₎, sneaking in Rowley's country club to see Heather₍₃₎, finding a way for Greg not to go to the Spag Union₍₃₎, etc) In the original movie, Rodrick had a line along with "What do I learn in school that I can't teach myself?". Learning by experience and observing and figuring out the principles of something is natural to Se-Ti/Ti-Se users. Fe: Rodrick knows how to bond with, annoy and manipulate Greg. He understands Greg's problems and gives him advices (not always in a positive way). This can come off as playing the devil's advocate or something like that, but it's basically how he uses his his Fe while being tertiary. He has some awareness about social boundaries and what he can do to obey those, but goes against it. Unlike some Fe inferiors who can actually appear easy going since they are trying not to touch on something they are weak at. He can often read Greg and his intentions (with the help of some Ni). He has a desire to be admired by others (including his crush). Ni: Unlike Greg, who has many ideas about his future and life and can't settle on one activity (Ne), Rodrick keeps a more clear vision of what he wants in life. His approach to some situations can kind of be interpreted as Ni as well like :"I know where this is going". But since it's an inferior function, he mostly doesn't use it. He often fails to consider the future implication of his actions and tries to do whatever he can "in the moment" to get a result, have fun, etc.
