Personality

What personality type is Emperor Belos / Philip Wittebane? Emperor Belos / Philip Wittebane is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 1w2 - sx/so - 153 in Enneagram, RLOEN in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.

puritanical “i can make your magic pure again as the titan intended” “i’ll do anything to save humanity from evil” sx1 goofy ahh come on he doesn’t have his anger informed by the heart like an 8, he has it informed by the mind, a rationalization. sx 1 descriptions fit him uncomfortably on the nose. “This character feels entitled in the sense of possessing the mentality of a reformer or a zealot-one who knows how to live or do things better and so feels a right to assert their will over others. Like the mentality of a conqueror, this approach can be rationalized (and made virtuous through the rhetoric of their adherence to a higher moral code or calling.)” https://www.personalitycafe.com/threads/sexual-ones-according-to-beatrice-chestnut.351426/ copying what @[froggiezplz] wrote that explains this. i just want to put this in its own post because it’s excellent: “he definitely is a 1, sx/so to be more specific. 8s and 1s are both gut types and therefore both deal with anger and control, however 1s are more disciplined in their anger while 8s are open and shameless in expressing it. 1s are also way more intellectual and authoritative, while 8s are rebellious and tend to act before thinking. 1s are frustrated with the world for not living up to their standards, which manifests in righteous anger. This fits his violent, but outwardly just, suppression of wild magic perfectly. The more 8-ish sexual subtype of E1 is very intense in their desires and is characterized by entitlement, aggression, dominance, and conquest, which is all very him”

Biography

Emperor Belos is the main antagonist of The Owl House. Originally a human named Philip Wittebane, he arrived in the Boiling Isles from Gravesfield, Connecticut during the Deadwardian Era (the mid-1600s in the Human Realm) in pursuit of his brother, Caleb, who was spirited away to the realm, keeping a written record of his experiences on the Boiling Isles as he endeavored to find a way to return to the Human Realm. Due to his inherent intense hatred of witches and magic, with which he gained additional resentment due to the Isles' prejudice against humans causing him to be alienated, Philip would eventually conspire to eliminate the Isles and its inhabitants as a whole in an attempt to save humanity from their supposed wickedness.
