What personality type is Mikey Waters? Mikey Waters is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sp/sx - 459 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.
I want to explain why I think Mike is 4w5 and not 5w4. I know that what we see the most are his speeches about life and loneliness and all that, but that does not mean that he is 5, all the enneagrams can think about that, the thing here is what fears we see and what desires. I think I never saw the greed of 5 in Mike, nor the desire to learn things because he doesn't want to face the world, rather I saw the desires of 4, the whole movie revolves around Mikey wanting to look for his mother because he feels a desire, a lack of something. (in this case, of love that his mother never gave him) and although we don't see his envy directly, in the campfire scene I saw this: " If I had a normal family and a good upbringing... then I would have been a well-adjusted person." And then like all 4 denies this envy "That's all right. I don't feel sorry for myself. mean, I feel like I'm - I feel like I'm, you know, well-adjusted." But we know that's not true because of everything that's happened in the movie and everything that he's been looking for, which is his mother and someone who loves him. I was thinking it might be 4 sx but I don't think so because he don't want to depend on someone, he just want to be understood, so I think 4 sp /sx is the best option. I understand why it could be seen as 5 sx, but I think he really doesn't have the vices of a 5, and he does have those of a 4, which is envy, although he represses it, because 4s don't like to admit their envy. And also the 4 seek to be understood, not only the 5 sx, also all people can seek to be understood or have a close union with someone. And yeah, he could have 5 but not in his enneagram, I think could be a 459 Edit: I would like to add that the 4 want that union and that love, because they did not have it in their childhood (it is something that happens in Mikey's life) so they feel that something is wrong with them, that nobody can love them, that's why they act differently to be worth of be loved, but the 4 is not an enneagram that speaks of trying to "be unique and different" to be recognized by others. The closest to that is 4 so, but in all the others, this change, and I think that 4 sx and sp are the 4 that most looks for a connection, and sp at the same time denies it, wants to resist by itself but has that internal desire to find that someone who gives them what they lacks, fills them up, wants to have meaningful conversations (like when he tells Scott he wants to talk but really talk) obviously Scott can't understand this because he's not a 4, Mike wants something real, he wants someone to whom he can tell all his problems and who will listen and understand him. In turn, he does not want to accept this desire and protects himself of seeks it. Biography
Mike Waters suffers from the medical condition known as narcolepsy in which the sufferer falls into a deep spasmodic sleep. These attacks are generally brought on in the middle of stressful situations Mike was placed in a children's home as baby when the authorities questioned his Mother's skills as a parent, so he has never experienced a stable family life.
