What personality type is HVAC Technician? HVAC Technician is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - - in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.
INFP here. If you are INFP and love yourself DO NOT take HVAC. I majored in this and while the pay is decent, it’s very detail oriented, not easy to learn and fixing people’s air conditioners is not a fulfilling lifestyle for me. It’s a very ISTP/ISTJ and LSI/SLI field. You’d probably like the field if you have the AP aspect combo F+V together. Common AP types I see in this field are LVEF, LFEV, FEVL, FLVE. Me being ELVF I am not that interested in things related to my Physics placement (2L+4F). It’s like an FLVE being a therapist.
Biography
HVAC or HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) technicians are/can be responsible for installation, repair or maintenance of HVACR equipment including: residential AC units, industrial chillers, refrigerators, parallel rack systems, etc. HVACR technicians may also work in duct installation, gas-piping, among other related tasks. HVACR technicians are required to be trained in and comply with environmental regulations regarding the use, recovery & handling of specific types of refrigerant (ex. CFCs or chlorofluorocarbons).
