The most frustrating historical drama character I’ve ever watched. Every thought, every action is not self-generated, but merely copy-pasted from morality scripts, the past, or based on someone else telling him what to do. There’s no Te or Fe functioning at all — just an endless Si-Si loop spinning in place. ***spoiler*** In the early episodes of Part 1, his refusal to directly reject the female lead in the love triangle made me think he might be an ISFJ (Si-Fe). But no — the reason behind his behavior was: *“Because I was raised by her father who saved me, I must make him proud.”*. Every single decision, including going to war, stems from this externalized moral debt. He didn’t reject the female lead because he “didn’t want to disappoint the elders”?!? There’s no Fe in the sense of reading emotional nuance. There’s no Te to make effective decisions. He simply waits for someone to tell him what to do, then follows the instructions. This is textbook ISTJ with a Si-Fi loop — where Fi is so underdeveloped that it becomes blind loyalty to borrowed ideals. There’s no internal compass — only mimicked virtue, applied without regard to actual context. Core Enneagram? How can there even be a core when there’s no original thought? This character feels like an extension of the antagonist faction, just there to create extra problems, not to contribute anything. Any “good” actions he performs are always pre-suggested or directly instructed by someone else. Everything else is just mechanical execution of rigid moral codes — no matter the cost, no matter the nuance. Clear Ne-inferior (slot 4): Refuses to entertain any alternative possibility. (“We must not let the savage enemy taint Joseon’s purity!”) Are you serious? If you’re a scholar, how do you fail to reflect on your nation’s long history of colonization and stop romanticizing false purity? I hated his happy ending. And why the hell did he wait five years to tell the female lead that the male lead was still alive?! Useless. Stubborn. Stupidly loyal. Completely uncritical.
