Personality

What personality type is Jason Dean "J.D."? Jason Dean "J.D." is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - sx/sp - 748 in Enneagram, SLUEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.

OK, I knooowww I said he was a 4 but I've changed my mind. He does certainly feel he and Veronica are unique, and sx 7s and 4s are easy to mix up. However, there is a big difference. E4s feel alienated and broken, and cope with this by revelling in their intense emotions and creating a significant identity. But 7s, being head types, turn their feelings into intellectual thoughts, theories, ideologies to distance themselves from the pain. This is most certainty JD. Yes, he's a broken person, but he is emotionally inexpressive, insensitive, and even impersonal. For example, the way he speaks of his mom's death is very emotionally detached, almost jokey. His creative, edgy, rebelliousness and fantastical, idealist nature can easily be explained by the sx 7 subtype, who are more emotional, artistic, imaginative 7s (so 4like 7s). It is true the 7 is optimistic, and JD is a cynical nihilist. But while he has a nihilist ideology, as a person he is energetic, and unrealistically hopeful. He takes delight in being a pessimist, he's more like an absurdist tbh, and that works with 7.
