Here's why Jack is not an Se dom: He is a pirate who seeks freedom, legends and myths. He is not a grounded person who strictly focuses on what he sees. Quite the contrary. He perceives reality and notices patterns, comes up with ideas and sees the possibilities. Just look at any scene where he devises a "plan". "Do you think he plans it all out or just comes up with it as he goes along?". It's implied many times that Jack doesn't strictly improvise or plan things out. He analyses the situation of the moment, sees the possible outcomes and goes with the one he sees fit at that moment. He plans the basics and improvises the rest. No Se, no Ni, just pure Ne. The description of Ne pretty much is a spot on description of Jack. Inferior Si also makes MUCH more sense than inferior Ni. Jack is a manipulator, an ideas person it wouldn't make sense for Ni to be his weak spot. Si makes sense. He's unconventional, unpredictable, rebelious, refuses to follow any rules or guidelines and lives to be free. Here's why Jack doesn't use Fi: Again, look at pretty much any of his scenes. When he wants to manipulate someone, he analyses the information he has and uses it to understand what that person wants, who he is and how he feels (Ti-Fe). Or if he is already familiar with them, he uses his knowledge of how the other person thinks and feels in order to get them to act how he wants. I'm surprised people think he uses Fi-Te. He plays Will like a fiddle once he understands what he wants and how he feels. He effortlessly manipulates Barbossa into acting the way he wants purely because he understands his motivations and personality. He hits on Davy's weak spot by mentioning Will's love for Elizabeth when in a tough situation. And he convinces Will AND Elizabeth they want to find the heart of Davy Jones in order to find it himself through the compass. Not only is it obvious that Jack is a more analytical person who uses facts and logic to understand concepts, people and situations (Ti) but he is also a master at having a crystal clear understanding of others (Fe). He isn't very compassionate or emotional but Fe is his tertiary function so it makes sense that he doesn't use all the characteristics of Fe to their fullest potential.
