Watch any episode and ask yourself: what is your strongest impression of Chandler? 🅰 His cold and impersonal way of thinking? His deductive reasoning? 🅱 Or his quick association of random ideas and informations? It's impossible for Chandler to be anything but Ne-dom. It's not by the mere idea of "making unstoppable jokes". But by the most recurrent and natural process that he clearly shows throughout the series. Chandler is by far known for his speed at connecting dots and patterns between anything externally perceived. He is much more focused on making quick intuitive associations than on analyzing information from a rational and logical perspective. ✅ That's why Chandler is ENTP. INTP bias? ❓What about Fe-Si❓ Aside from the fact that some confuse Social Anxiety with Fe-inf, Chandler shows much more Fe than Si. He is constantly preoccupied with his image, with what others think of him, trying to keep up with the feeling of "objects", trying to accommodate himself to the collective. Fe is not something Chandler bothers to use. A true Fe-inf purposefully distances itself from the feelings of others in favor of having a more accurate and impersonal perspective on things. This one does bother to use such a function. This is clearly NOT what Chandler does. Furthermore, INTPs are more concerned with details and use Si as a database, an accumulation of reliable information/experience to improve their deductive analyses. Chandler, on the other hand, seems little concerned about such things, not to mention that living in very stagnant and stable conditions proves to be a major source of stress for him (like his job). In any case, neither Si nor Fe are expressive enough to overlook the fact that Chandler's Ne is grandly larger than his Ti. So Chandler still remains ENTP in any scenario.
Biography
The group's deadpan snarker. A friend of Ross' from college, the friends never quite understand the nature of his job in the business world, which he hates, but it's led him to be generally the most financially successful of the group, to the point that he essentially supports Joey in the early years. His dad runs an all-male burlesque called "Viva Las Gaygas". His mom is a world-famous erotic romance novelist. Neither fact sits well with him and has led to a severe fear of commitment and a lifetime of over-compensating for his insecurities with a a sharp, acerbic sense of humor. Originally best defined through his heterosexual life-partners relationship with Joey, he eventually falls in love with Monica, and they build a rare stable relationship within the gang.
