1/6 𝑨𝑰𝑹𝑰 𝑨𝑺 𝑪𝑶𝑹𝑬 𝑺𝑶𝑪𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑬𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻 𝑨𝑹𝑮𝑼𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻 I want to provide a general baseline for so8 airi which imo, airi doesn’t fit any of the core heart triad types. She can have it in tritype but as core, I fail to see where she fits any E3: dissociates from the self and its values, identifies with an idealized self-image, thrives on the admiration and exaltations of others based on socially accepted standards. E2: restrictive positive self-image, thrives on the flattery of others. E4: specific negative self-image and disdains others esp if they're good to them/they depend on them. -> E3: “he can be generous, w a scintillating display of feeling, w flattery, w favors n help—in anticipation of admiration or in return for devotion received.” This contradicts Airi’s entire inner-emotional turmoil with her past and her current self, she does not want to be viewed as her past television persona (sx3: “They want to satisfy and please others, achieving this through changing their appearance”. An sx3 would try and play the role if it meant they received love and recognition. Here, airi is having none of that and doesn’t let those get to her.), but just as airi working as an idol (her lifelong passion). She wants to be recognized as a true idol and give hope to those around her, she wants to feel like the work she does has meaning behind it and she wants to know if her efforts are working or going in vain. Because if her actions aren’t helping anyone, then she feels like she didn’t do anything productive or has failed as an idol, she has failed not only herself but the people around her as well. Her entire goal in life is to deliver “hope that tomorrow will be better”, she wants to give strength in those who are struggling just like how she was as a child, she isn’t putting on a display to gain affection, or putting on some idealized version of herself (she’s trying to be authentic/be recognized through her idol work not as her tv persona, wants to prove herself through competence to be an idol who can deliver hope to everyone.) -> Haruka: “When she was on all those variety shows, losing her identity as a proper idol just kept weighing her down.”, but as airi the hardworking idol who places a smile on those around her. I will be giving my analysis + explanation through Airi’s recent focus event “Retie Friendship”, Haruka’s focus event “Beyond the Dream on That Day”, Airi’s second focus event “Happy Everyday!” and Airi’s fes card “To You Who Aims to Be an Idol” (The premise of this card is basically airi reminiscing about her past childhood self and her ambitions because her younger sister reminds her of herself + she’s trying to come to terms with her past and to move on from it) But before that, let me briefly go over why I personally think Airi is so8: 𝘚𝘖8 (𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳-𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘰𝘧 8) -> “If this is your subtype, you often embody the archetype of the matriarch or the patriarch who takes care of everybody, although you may not see the cost of this. (During Airi’s second focus event story, she fails to see how her efforts are making anyone smile because people around her constantly degraded her work as an idol and only saw her as the ridiculously happy/funny reality tv “idol”. Because of this, airi wasn’t made aware of how her work actually made her true fans feel.) By disregarding your own well-being, you tend to sacrifice yourself. You may feel challenged when it comes to caring for yourself or allowing others to take care of you. You protect others, but don’t get protected—and aren’t always aware of this. You can’t stop yourself from intervening when you see others being mistreated by someone who has more power. And while this savior role can seem noble and brave, it may not be good for you or your growth.” (It is noted by Haruka that airi is rather private about her own personal concerns, saying that she “Hardly ever talks about her own past, so it’s easy for us to believe that she isn’t bothered by it anymore.” Which is why Haruka has to go in a roundabout way to help Airi realize that her idol work isn’t worthless or in vain, that she is actually making others smile and feel joy. “Do you want everyone to see Airi Momoi of MORE MORE JUMP! Who puts everything she can into her singing, dancing, and MCing?” Airi doesn’t realize that Haruka is asking this so airi can have her own idol show performance and show the real world the hidden idol charm of airi which she was vehemently denied from in the past.) -> “It’s generally hard for an Eight to make their love needs conscious, and while they can seem softer or calmer than the other Eights, Social Eights also have a blind spot where their own needs for love and protection are concerned.” (This is shown in Airi’s untrained version of her ‘Retire Friendship’ card where she’s seen with an unpleasant look on her face as her classmates/friends are talking away, ignoring her. She feels left out but doesn’t know what to do or how to confront this as she struggles to voice out her concerns.)
