Personality

What personality type is Dean Craig Isidore Pelton? Dean Craig Isidore Pelton is an ESFJ personality type in MBTI, 7w6 - so/sx - 739 in Enneagram, SLOAN in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.

I originally said this in replies, but I thought I might as well make my own thread: I think his obsession with being a good dean and all the ideas he has for social events and such point towards Fe-Ne usage, he’s focused a lot on how he affects the school and keeping everyone happy and receiving external validation and how he’s subtlety manipulative (but ofc in a funny/harmless way). His costumes and relentless puns are very indicative of his tert Ne, since Si-Ne usage is making connections between things you’ve seen before, therefore puns. He is highly emotional, but also speaks in that ESFJ “beating around the bush” way, his focus isn’t so much “I need to be liked because it benefits *me* and makes *me* feel good” it’s more “If I’m liked by everyone that’s means I’m doing my job correctly and making everyone feel welcomed and happy here, which is everyone else is happy then I’m happy”. He says himself he puts on these dances and events not because *he* wants to have an excuse to dress up and have fun but because he’s afraid the school isn’t good enough and he’s trying his hardest to make it a great place for the students there, his reasoning is far more Fe oriented. You can’t deny he’s very much in tune with the social environment, and he has a large tendency to place blame on himself when things go awry externally, yes that is influenced by his occupation but I also believe that is also the way he is wired. Imagine an ESFP in charge, especially in a comedy, I think their need for instant gratification and lack of commitment and tendency towards selfishness (especially as an e7) would be played up for laughs. I can’t see him as an Se dom, let alone a strong Se-Te user, they take in everything exactly as it is, and I believe their motives for improving the school would be far more Te oriented, whereas a Fe-Ne user would generate possibilities motivated by Fe things, which he is. Like look at this video https://youtu.be/gE-m0b5KX2Y at 2:05-2:40, this type of situation would be the perfect opportunity for Te to come out but his problem solving is so obviously Fe-Ne. The way where he prioritizes the group > the one, his openness to adjust his ideas when receiving new information and hearing out others reasoning is Fe-Ne and Ti, not Se-Te. Se-Te would be more along the lines of “this is the most obvious solution I see, you guys will follow it” (ESPECIALLY since he has objective authority over them as dean, which Te values) not “how do you guys feel about this idea..ok what about this one...ok this idea seems to benefit the most people let’s go with it”

Biography

Dean of Greendale Community College. He's intensely determined to raise the reputation and profile of the school to make it seem more like a 'proper' university but, unfortunately, is usually neither clever or competent enough to do so. Has a tendency to latch on to any excuse to both dress up in an unusual and often gender-crossing costume (particularly to deliver news) and to try and get close to Jeff.
