What personality type is Rustin "Rust" Cohle? Rustin "Rust" Cohle is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sp/sx - 548 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
I don't understand these dumba*s comments claiming "he has good Fe". Extraverted Feeling is about being agreeable to objective values, meaning that the worth of something is determined on the values gathered from sources outside of yourself, like pre-established (traditional) values and/or whatever the majority values.... This is the literal opposite of Cohle, he is a clear cut case of a person who has repressed Fe to oblivion - an Introverted Thinker. Now, due to the limitations of MBTI, it's a bit more difficult to accurately type him. He is of course someone whose usage of Intuition is obvious and it seems to be very differentiated as pointed out by his hallucinations (which could be called visions) and hunches. Consequently he is indifferent to the Sensations that occur within (Si) and to the objects of Sensation (Se), making him quite dissociated from reality as it is - this is what causes the conflicts between Rust and Marty who leads with Extraverted Sensation. The problem with typing him by the MBTI cognitive functions system, is that his Intuition is partly Extraverted but mostly Introverted. Saying that he is "TiNe" or even "TiNi" is wrong! Rust is a Ti(N).... but the closest that comes to that is INTP.
