C-3PO MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is C-3PO? C-3PO is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sp/so - 612 in Enneagram, RLOAN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.

“Die, Jedi dogs! Oh… What did I say?” MBTI —> Very much a dominant Si user that’s reliant on his established systems of knowledge, in which case, I suppose it would be his droid protocol, but just because he’s a droid doesn’t automatically equate to ISXJ, it’s just how C-3PO works and then I think he’s very much an auxiliary Fe as he’s attentive to polite social etiquette and is constantly after R2-D2 for rude remarks. —> I think he uses tertiary Ti to figure out what has been communicated to him and piece together appropriate methods for negotiation, such as with the Ewoks when they had they thought he was some form of a god, but also with simple things, such as helping Luke evaluate where R2-D2 ran off when they first met on Tatooine. —> Otherwise, his inferior Ne pains him quite a bit as he’s often freaking out about unpredictable circumstances that the gang drags him into, whether it be the whole asteroid field chase in Empire Strikes Back of his reluctance with R2-D2 wanting to help Anakin and Senator Amidala in the Geonosis droid factory. ENNEAGRAM —> Oh lord, as other comments have already alluded to, his droid programming might as well be a technological manifestation of Self-Preservation of 6w5, anxiety intrinsically interwoven into his stress reactions and his reliance upon systems for security. —> As far as integrating into healthy 9-like relaxation and optimism, I think this might have been the case in more settled settings when he wasn’t frantically lobbed around on spaceships, such as his time spent on Tatooine with the Lars’s or even in the forest moon of Endor, when he got a little too comfortable with praised as a god by the Ewoks. —> Otherwise, more competitive unhealthy 3like traits comes through in rebuking R2-D2 for his bluntness and daredevil tactics and even when the gang takes risky maneuvers in the Millennium Falcon. PERSONAL THOUGHTS —> It’s fucking hilarious how, in MBTI terms, C-3PO seems to be an obligatory “ISFJ punching-bag”, such as in a similar vein to Toby Flenderson (although he deserves it, he is the worst) from The Office and Jerry from Parks and Recreation, everyone shitting on C-3PO for his anxiety and constantly getting in the way. —> He has a more held back role in the Prequels, but it was a pretty interesting twist to see that Anakin made him in the beginning to help Shmi and I don’t think there’s anything narratively wrong about it, in fact, it’s hilariously ironic about his “Thank the Maker” lines allude to Anakin as his “God”. —> So, there was some interesting potential in his larger role in The Rise of Skywalker as his language communications was used to interpret Sith scripts, but again, I must emphasize *potential* as there was a lot in question narratively. Thank you.
